I think firing a player is free. Firing specialists, is not. You have to pay them a weeks wage.

There's no cost to fire a player. It costs $1500 to fire a specialist, but because you didn't pay them for their first week on the job, it comes out in the wash (except for economists, who don't do anything in their first week on the job).
