Interesting, it lists them as playing Ireland a few days later. Too bad the US could not play Ireland and have a mini US Cup.

"2 de junio EUA-Honduras Washington
4 ó 5 de junio Honduras-Irlanda Washington"

I asked about this at RFK and was told nothing was finalized.

Plus they're playing another game in Europe on May 27, so there is no Honduras-Ireland. Maybe its Northern Ireland they're playing.

That's where the Hondurans are used to sitting at RFK (ducks from politically charged crossfire sure to begin shortly...)

I guess El Salvador is busy that day.

I wish I could say "I can't believe the USSF would schedule that match after the qualifier" but I'd believe anything about those morons.

Let's hope this doesn't happen.

Dude, a friendly is a bit different than a qualifier. Also, it would be like playing an away game but getting the financial benefit of a home game--a great thing to do when preparing for qualifiers.

Just once in my life I'd like to sit in RFK and watch the other team feel like it's an away game.

It felt that way when I saw the South Africa friendly at RFK. But, yes you're right, RFK shouldn't have any games unless the USSF passes it by you first.

My understanding was that they are playing Honduras but not at RFK - somewhere else on the East Coast. We are about 6 weeks out from June 2, so we're probably on the verge of getting an announcement pretty soon.

If you have a different understanding, can you tell us from where?

CHICAGO (Thursday, April 15, 2004) — U.S. Soccer announced today that the U.S. Men's National Team is headed to Foxborough’s Gillette Stadium for a pair of important matches in the next five months. In the first match, the U.S. is set to meet CONCACAF foe Honduras in an international match on Wednesday, June 2 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Gillette Stadium in a match to be broadcast via tape delay on Telemundo at 11:30 p.m. ET & PT.
Should the U.S. advance past Grenada, the semifinal round home opener is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 4 and would also be hosted by the three-year-old Gillette Stadium at a time to be determined. That match would be against the winner of the El Salvador/Bermuda series.

No offense to my friends in the greater Boston/Providence area, but this is crap. How about a game in Blain, Minnesota? or Santa Fe, New Mexico? or Detroit, Michigan? or Atlanta, Georgia?

I wonder what the odds that the remaining home WCQ will be at RFK? At this rate, I'd have to think that that was a lock. Sheesh.

Sheesh. That was the semifinal round last time -- Foxborough, DC, Columbus -- in that order. Well, Foxborough has the first one again this time and Columbus again has the last one.

Well, if you read the US Soccer report, it's because of the amazing run of luck there (excepting that Holland thang).
