Hiya. Sorry for a silly question; but can someone tell me why Saha is cup tied for this match?

I've been trying to find the FA Cup cup-tied rule but can't find it anywhere. Anybody have a quick cite?

Thanks!

Saha played for Fulham in the earlier rounds of the tournament - you cannot represent two different clubs in one season in the FA Cup...

Thanks!

Maybe you know the answer to a more general question about FA's cup-tied rule. Is it a straight-line rule (i.e., no exceptions whatsover)? What if you played the kick-off fa cup match for team A and then didn't play anymore until team B wanted you for the fa cup final?

thanks again

No worries - yes it is a straight line rule with no exceptions whatsoever as far as I am aware. As soon as you play for one club in the tournament you cannot play for another - it's a similar rule with most cup competitions I believe.

Thats why Saha was a good buy for us in the January transfer window - he was able to play for us in the Champions League as Fulham had not qualified (not that it made any difference though, mores the pity ;)).

This sucks bad now that Ruuuuud is injured...

Of course, back in January when all was right with the world, SAF didn't care as much about the FA Cup as he does now lol

Don't believe the hype - we'll only know what the teams are going to be on Saturday an hour or so before the game starts - there's too many head-games going on right now between the two clubs that it is hard to believe a word either of them say...

Everybody who believes that neither RvN nor Henry will not start this match, please step forward.

OK, now everyone else...beat the 2 or 3 really dimwitted people who stepped forward.
