There's a relatively reliable rumour on Spurs Community that a summer friendly is being setup away with Porto at their home stadium, and this is part of a deal to bring either Nuno Valente (left-back) or Ricardo Carvalho (centre-back) to the Lane, like when the club went to South Africa and brought OJ back with them.

Carvalho is a very highly rated player, someone the club were reported to be watching closely. But I can't imagine his contract status is such that he would be anything other than relatively expensive, particularly with the interest he could command.

Nuno Valente is a decent player, a first choice under Mourinho but not on the same level as Carvalho. The club does need a decent and cost effective left back in the summer though. If the club are genuinely keen and certain that they can get Mourinho as the new boss, then they could well try and sign both of these players.

They'd have to be pretty damn good to displace the mighty Tano. He twatted Parker and Duff off the ball, while also stepping on Parker for good measure. He is a legend. He makes the bench in my all time greatest Spurs team 'cos he's a dirty conniving little sneak.

Nooo, Taricco!!! Won't go into that..

Carvalho is a centre back, and i think we need that more. Perhaps Gardner could play left back?

I think we *might* go for Matt Taylor of Pompey if they go down.
