Rafa is surely losing credibility now.

I'm not a United fan, but I reckon Fergie has more to shout about, EPL and a possible champions league aside.

Look at it this way - if United don't win the league next season, Fergie wouldn't really get the sack. Can Rafa say the same? ;) 19 years with no title, and next year (should United win it) United would overtake the Scousers proud joint-record. it would also mean no title after being Liverpool manager for six years.

Rafa best hope Fergie doesn't get the last laugh. ;)

If he was a man and had a pair, he would congratulate Sir Alex.

Five years not six, but yes that is still a poor record.

I don't get all the fuss over this.

The press are really manipulating this story way beyond what it needs to be.

He congratulated us on the title, that's all I'd need. If he didn't name Ferguson then so what? He probably didn't really think about it. He probably thought the press wanted embellishment and he wasn't willing to go any further. Why should he?

I'm not bothered about this and I think it would be silly for anyone to read more into it than it actually contains.

I dont consider any of United's Title's after 2000 as valuable as they should be, its abit like The Montreal canadiens w*nkin on about they have won more stanley cups then anyone else yet if you search history most of their wins was when their were only 5-8 Teams in the NHL unlike the 30 they have now.

Kind of like the EPL is only contest between 3 - 4 Teams now.

Being a pr!ck is just fine if you're a successful one.

Oh no, I'm gutted. Gandalf the *** doesn't value our titles.............

Incidentsally, why do you, a Liverpool fan, not value our titles? Don't give me this tripe about the league not being as competitive as it used to be? Liverpool wracked up titles like there was no tomorrow between 1973 and 1990. 11 in 17 years to be precise.

Put it one way if I had a choice right now that my liverpool will win the title next season but the next 9 will be shared by United & Chelsea.

Or

The Next 10 season's the winners of the epl will be several teams outside Liverpool, United, Chelsea & Arsenal.

I will take the latter, I love my club but It is nothing without the sport and the sport is sick.

with challenges coming from every where, The Boot Room was so powerful, it had nothing todo with money.

But it was good it faulted for Footballs sake, as a kid winning the title became a tad boring, which is wrong.

Those titles don't even count, they're from an era that bordered on amateur.

that liverpool amateur side would beat most teams today because you wouldnt see the ball.

That a debate for an entirely different subject.

Football these days carries far more emphasis on the athletic side of the game. Pace, power, stamina - and then trying to fuse good technique into all of that. Football 20 or 30 years ago was more about technique and tactical pragmatism. Players like Torres, Ronaldo, Kaka, Gerrard, Essien and Messi would all stand out a mile if they were around 30 years ago though, I think.

Nothing warms the cockles more than a sweeping generalisation made as a result of an inability to comprehend a differing opinion from an opposition supporter.

This story is dead.
