In this FA Cup semi-final match, I pick Arsenal to beat Man Utd. Arsenal comes fresh from a 1-1 draw with its arch-nemesis in its Premiere League game. The team has been to three FA Cup finals in a row and is hoping to make it four. Arsenal is favored (2.40) at *******. Which club do you think will advance to the FA Cup finals?

I hope man utd win, arsenal are getting too big for their boots. i think man utd could win, and hopefully it will ruin arsenals season. In other tie, sunderland will probably be too good for milwall, though Dennis Wise could produce some cup magic, he has a history of it and somehow it just seems right that in his first managerial spell he makes the final.

Wouldn't there be a replay if the game ends in a draw? I didn't think this would go to extra time.

I'm fairly certain that is not the case anymore. Someone more knowledgable will correct me, I'm sure, but I think 1999 was the last year that replays were allowed in the semi-finals. Now once you reach the semis, the match must be decided by extra time and then penalty kicks if necessary.

Right you are.

From the FA Cup Rules (http://**************.com/5gkb).
15.****************** PROVISIONS FOR THE SEMI-FINALS
(e) When a match is drawn after 90 minutes, an extra 30 minutes shall be played, and in this event, the game shall recommence as provided by Law 8, and 15 minutes shall be played in each half.

(f)************ When a match is drawn after extra time, the winner shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the procedure adopted by The International Football Association Board.

And as with all other competitions, starting next year the extra time will not be sudden death. 30 minutes and then if someone's leading, they win. Otherwise, penalties.

Semifinal replays were likely eliminated to cut down on midweek games towards the end of the season. No conflicts with Europe, and the teams get more rest.

Hiya. Sorry for a silly question; but can someone tell me why is Saha is cup tied for this match?

FA Cup extra time has never been Golden Goal anyway.

Saha had already played in the FA Cup for Fulham against Cheltenham Town.
