A number of games on right now. Phil and Nicky start for England. No Ruud for Holland, Silvestre comes on as a second half sub for France. Liam Miller gets his first cap for Ireland, a second half sub against Czech Republic.

Just got back from my local pub...Phil and Nicky had performances suiting the England team as a whole (i.e., not good but not completely bad...though Phil got nutmegged as England almost conceded another).
How 'bout that last-second whiff from Barthez? Maybe letting him go for nothing was the right decision!

I have always thought that we needed to get rid of this guy even if we needed to pay his boat fare. Just get him out at any cost. And keep him out.

Classic Barthez! Thank God he's with OM. Did you see his face, it didn't faze him. He's either got huge stones or is so accustomed that he doesn't care. How can France be considered a favorite with him in the nets. They'll have to score 4 a game to make up for his blunders.

Who's Les Blues second keeper? I've always been impressed by Sebastian Frey, but I don't remember him getting a cap. Isn't Arsenal rumored to be interested in him?
