Incredibly saddened by this. Our back line just wasn't the same after he went down. Would love to see him offered a position with the club.
Mange tak, Martin.

He wont be easy to replace. Well done Martin.
So who's going to be our new captain?

If I had to guess, I'd say Petrov as he's one of the older guys in the first XI, has the most international caps of anyone on the team, is a current vice-captain, and just signed a new 4 year deal.
This is also under the assumption that Barry is gone, which I think is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Even if Barry stays I think it would be hard for the fans to accept him as captain. Im a bit undecided as to who should be captain, Petrov is a good option but id be leaning towards Ash Young if he was a bit older.

I think the thing working against Ashley is his tendency to be a bit of a hothead. You want a guy like that on the field, but I'm not really sure you want him talking to the ref during the game. Maybe in a few years once he's matured a bit more...

Yeah it would be interesting to see what a few more years does to him, hopefully he can mature into a leader.
