Nice bit on Morenos' return to the team. Payne says Moreno was given a chance because United "owed him" but it seems to work out. Nowak had some great praise "We didn't know what he was going to do, but we've been very impressed with his work. "He has shown he can still play at this level, and physically he's getting better and better. If he's healthy and he does the same job he did in preseason, he's going to score a lot of goals."

He's only 30. He's had back trouble but it's too early to just blame his recent struggles on age.

This is great news.
Jaime has always been one of my favorite players.

I always liked Moreno. When healthy he can be very dangerous, but I have to seriously question his ability to stay healthy. It hasn't been a good run for him lately.

Moreno is another potential Key Player - Not just as a regular Striker - But as a withdrawn Forward who is supposed to help Distribute the ball on Offense - I don't think any of the other Forwards can do this (not many can - PERIOD) - And if need be, he could also take over as Center HB for a game or two when needed due to call-ups, injuries, too many games, etc -
In the Glory Years, when the Offense and was stymied by the opposing teams concentration on Defense, Moreno and Diaz-Arce would track back into HBs and the HBs would make runs forward to confuse the Defense - But you need Forwards who have Distribution and Passing smarts and skills - Moreno has this - I don't know who else in the Forwards does, but this is one skill that makes Moreno stand out, one that hopefully Nowak will recognize and go to as appropriate
Hope he does well
I look forward to seeing him score some goals for us. Just stay healthy baby!

I think the little nuggets of news Goff puts in at the end of stories should be called "Goff shots... nothing but Goff shots"
:D

I guess we can leave Jaime up on the Barra site again this year. He was kinda like the Christmas lights that stay up on some redneck's trailer all year. (With all due respect to lazy rednecks)
Welcome back Jaime you have always been a favorite of the Barra. We'll try and forget the whole Metro thing, in fact, we're very good at denial around here. As United fans we have made it an artform over the last five years.
We hope to see you in the parking lot this Saturday Jaime welcome home!
United's not United without a Bolivian. ;)

I agree, although I'd also point out that at 30, you are getting to where you really don't have the time to keep bouncing back from long-term injuries.
Not trying to be a wet blanket. I'm looking forward to seeing Jaime set up his teamates and put a few in the net himself. Sounds like he's got the right attitude, too.

Jaime has always been one of my favorite players.
Except when they let him take penalties. :D
