I joined almost a year ago. I believe the thanks goes to a thread I read about while doing mfls last year. Like Arsenal, I had heard about WES and hattrick, looked at WES, looked at hattrick, decided hattrick was better worth my time.:)

I discovered Hattrick years ago somehow, but didn't completely understand the idea of an internet game and wasn't sure I wanted some Swede's program running no my PC. :p So, I could have been an early player but didn't join 'till 2003 when I discovered Big Soccer's Hattrick thread in the games forum.

I discovered Hattrick thanks to the group of users at USCHO. They were posting about it in a thread on European soccer, I wondered who the heck these strange players were (e.g. I'd never heard of Melvin Olsen), so I asked what they were talking about. Once I joined in, I went looking for a thread about it on BigSoccer.

If I'd only been poking around the games forum sooner, I would already be a well-established team. :(

Wow, that's 14 clubs so far. Not bad.

They don't post much anymore, but California Sea Lions (III.2), Northern Lazies (III.10), Middlesex Athletic (III.4), and Indy Racing Athletic (II.4) all have been known to lurk in these parts.

I think Indy and I are the only BigSoccerites to ever make it all the way to the Major League and play at least 1 full season (I'm sure you old timers know what I mean). I'm still licking my wounds from the arse-whoopin' I got up there.............Kansas City Wizards shows no mercy.
