Graham Hunter is a brilliant reporter when it comes to La Liga. He is as knowledgable about the goings on of that league as just about anyone on the planet is of any league. When he talks, people should listen.

If you haven't heard already, Hunter is reporting that Vidic has been tapped up by Barcelona for several months now and is ready to attempt to force his way out of Manchester.

Hunter reports that Vidc's wife is not a fan of Manchester's renowned weather, and is very keen on a move to a warmer climate like Catalonia. Vidic himself is reported to be interested in the idea of the move to Barca and will try to force his way out this summer.

When Hunter questioned his United source about the story, it was confirmed that Barca has been tapping Vidic up, and that they are fully aware that Ronaldo will not be the only war they have to face this summer.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

Can United really face the 2009/2010 season without the likes of Vidic, Tevez, and Ronaldo? United has talent to spare and would surely spend the 80 or 90 million the sales of Ronaldo and Vidic would bring in wisely on big time talent, but wouldn't it really cut at the heart of United?

Is Evans really ready to replace Vidic? (Vidic could have been player of the year if not for 2 matches vs Liverpool)

If there is any truth to Hunter's bombshell, (And I have no reason to doubt him) next season could be a rough. Will Fergie draw a line in the sand the way he did with Ronaldo last summer? Can he really fight fires on so many fronts? And is keeping tapped up players whose heads are elsewhere really what is best for United?

This story has hit me hard. I'm a massive Vidic fan.

That's rubbish....

This is from May 8th:

http://www.sport.co.uk/news/Football/19321/Vidic_going_nowhere_Agent_.aspx

Nemanja Vidic’s agent has rubbished rumours his client wants to leave Manchester United.
The towering Serb was recently linked with a move to Barcelona, with reports suggesting the player’s wife was unhappy living in England.
Silvano Martina told Tuttomercatoweb: “I read unworthy things in the English and Spanish newspapers (http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/05/08/1253402/manchester-united-defender-nemanja-vidic-going-nowhere-agent). The only thing I can say is that Vidic has three years on his contract with Manchester United.”
“They're a club that are preparing to contest the final of the Champions League, not a Lega Pro team, and that I am the only agent at this moment and I have nothing new to say.”

Its ironic that at the height of our successes there seems to be constant stories of us losing our best players...Its annoying and I empathise with how Arsenal had to put up with it every year with Henry and Viera.

Money is no substitue for top class players like Vidic and Ronaldo. Losing Vidic now, with Evans still inexperianced and Rio seemingly more injury prone would be poor timing.

One things for sure, there is no chance in hell that we will lose all three this summer.

Graham Hunter is a f.a.g. As is his chum Bollocks Ballague. As is anyone naive/stupid enough to believe their shit.

Hope that helps.

I like watching Spanish football, and I do this by keeping up with Revista De La Liga, but having Guillem Balague the Liverpool fan and Graham Hunter chatting balls annoys me.

Probably worth remembering rumours like this will keep Hunter and Balague relevant and employed over the long summer months. No doubt some truth in it that Barca would like to sign the best CD in the world but wanting and getting are two very different things.

Oh well looking forward to the annual exodus of players due to the Manchester weather:rolleyes:

Balague is a complete and utter fool. Vidic's agent is exactly that, an agent.

Hunter is nothing like the Liverpool fan Sky tries to pawn off on us as a La Liga "expert". The man is complete class.

Hunter shared the Vidic story on May 13th, well aware of the May 8th report. He spoke to his United source after the report and claims it was confirmed to be a brewing battle. We all know contracts aren't worth the paper they are printed on.

Normally the silly season doesn't get to me, but Hunter isn't the Sun, or a Spanish paper under the thumb of Real Madrid or Barcelona. Writing the story off based on a comment from an agent is dangerous. United, Vidic, and Barcelona all need to present a certain image and story to the public, at least for now. If this turns into a war, I'm going to be too crushed to come back and say "I told you so".

I hope you are right. I hope it isn't true. I hope Hunter has actually gotten something wrong for once.

Look, if Vidic wants to leave all this for "Barcelona" because his wife can't deal with the weather for a few more years, then WTF anyways...

Failing that, Hunter can suck it. End of.

His wife hates the weather? Simple, get her an apartment in Barcelona and send her there. Problem solved.

Real thing. And what kind of BS is this? Didn't the same Nemanja play in Russia or something along the lines?

I can assume you gents aren't married.

Clubs in the north often have the same problem when it comes to getting players to come up, the wags hate the weather and the shopping is better in London. Especially the foreign players wives hate the north. And the food.

It is a small thing, but small things like the keeper of the vag being cranky can make all the difference.

Vidic admits he hated Manchester when he first arrived but says he has grown to accept it. That's not exactly loving it. He can win medals with Barca too and make the keeper of the love box much happier.

If there's any smidgen of truth to this we'll just stick Evans in there, oh well.

I think that's a fair point. Barcelona have a great team as well and they win plenty of medals. It's all fair game in football and it's kind of sad to think about how WAGs can have so much control over their sausages. I mean one goes out to bag the money and win championships while the other goes around shopping and the latter still squeals about..:rolleyes:

Every team will encounter such problems and this will only test the greatness of Fergie.

Why would I be at my age. But seriously if I am right it really makes no sense for her to say that or the story to be true. But hey what do I know right.;)

I laugh at the idea of anyone denying Vidic anything and that includes his wife.

Graham Hunter is a brilliant reporter ?
He knows La Liga  ?

All he has done is lived some time in Spain, he knows nothing about football.

Barcelona already spend 30 m plus on Central defenders last season, what makes you think they will do it again, they are not RM.
