Game is on FSC Live for the US viewers at 11:00 AM EST this Sunday.
Really think we should rest some regulars to avoid injury and see how a few youngsters may do. I believe Carvs, Deco and Kalou are listed as doubtful but some may recover in time for this one.
Team I would like to see (no laughing please)
Hilario
Mancienne Ivanovic JT Bertrand
Stoch Mikel Cork Sinclair/Kalou
DiSanto Anelka
subs
R. Taylor, Alex, Boswinga, Lampard, Mellis, Essien, Van Aaholt

bwahhaahaaa...oops was not supposed to do that:eek: seeing what clothes go with yellow cards...
like the sentiment but I'd be less adventerous and go with
Manc -Ivano--JT---Cole(Bertrand at half-60)
------Mikel-----
----Cork---Lamp (need his fantasy points)
Stoch -Drogs(DiSanto 2nd) -Sinclair
Carv just needs to be rested and avoid contact or serious strain until pre-season
Deco needs to use the time to pack

Sucks that the last 2 games are meaningless.

I'm kind of torn between "giving up" and not playing the A team and wanting to see the kids get a run out. A mix of the two would probably be best. I love the Hilario in net idea with Stoch, Mancienne, DiSanto and Ivanovic all getting playing time.

Well not entirely. We can still mathematically get the 2nd place. Provided a massive cock-up by the Scousers that is.:p

Witht the new CL format, difference b/w 2nd and 3rd place is purely a pride issue I guess.

True but it would still be great to get one over on Fatty and his team.

Is Quaresma even around? Is he playing with the reserves? What's he doing? If there is indeed any intention of keeping him, I'd like to see him get a run. If there isn't send him home with Deco - today!

I don't know whether it's tabloid garbage or not but I read somewhere that Chelsea will not offer Quaresma a permanent deal.
There is also a rumour Benfica are interested in signing him.

It will prob just be this:
Cech
Ivan/Bos, Alex, Terry, Cole
Belletti, Mikel, Essien/Lampard, Ballack
Anelka, Malouda
We are one of the most predictable teams on the planet.

He has been playing in the reserves and he has played very well scoring and making goals. I think that Gus must not like him for some reason.
I think it would be unfair to the youngsters to replace the normal team wholesale. They need to be introduced 1 or 2 (no more then 2 0r 3) at a time so that they stand a chance of competing in a competitive team.
Also some first teamers need to keep playing or they will loose form before the cup final.

I doubt very much that Hiddink will change his starting XI.......Cech, Bosingwa, Alex, Terry, Cole, Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Malouda.

I believe Hiddink will take the upcoming game against Blackburn very seriously and start with his usual XI. Hopefully, if we get ahead by a couple of goals I would expect to see him bring in 2 or 3 of the youngsters.
