Out of either "Passing" or "Playmaking", which do you think is a more important secondary skill of a forward?

Passing is the only important secondary for a forward played "Normal." If you can afford trainees with better than poor passing, it is worth it because they will resell for a premium higher than you paid initially.

You still might want a trainee or two with Inadequate to Passable playmaking and Solid to Excellent stamina because he will be useful as a defensive forward. You probably won't need him every game as a defensive forward, but if you buy him with Inadequate playmaking, he won't demand a significant premium and will give you some tactical choices in your games.

Well, I have an inadequate trainer... so I suppose that is not good... but I don't really have much cash so I guess I am stuck w/ him... how much does a passable trainer coach cost?

I believe you can get a passable trainer/poor leadership for like 80K. I think that might be advisable if you can get the cash. The faster training has really paid of for me this season when I upgraded my coach at the end of last season.

Just applied for my team tonight, and have 1 on the waiting list in front of me. Anyone know how long that will take? I'm hoping soon!

I have a feeling I'm going to wonder why it's taken me so long to start playing this game.

It will depend on a few things. But a team in my series was just reset and it took a guy 6 days from signup to get his team.

Trust me. It will be worth it.

It usually seems to take anywhere from 4-7 days it seems to get your team. Most likely I would guess you'd be on the short end with only one team in front of you, but I could be wrong.

Ok, for the last three days it's said there was 1 person on the waiting list (I'm presuming in front of me). Now it says this:

Waiting list

There are currently 2 users on the waiting list for your league. Yesterday 97 users were given a team in your league, the last of which had applied 2004-08-13 22:45:00.

As soon as it is your turn to get a team, you will get an email that tells you about this.

Curious when it is your turn? Based on the information above, you can make an educated guess. Please donīt e-mail the Gamemasters and ask them about it, because they canīt give you a date, and they canīt speed up the process either!

You applied for a team 2004-08-13 07:54:18.

Dammit I want a team now! :D

That could be the fastest purchase of supporter in history. :D

Good luck Stogey. What is your team name? And don't forget to register your team in the registry thread.

My team is PB United, playing in the Los Angeles region. I'll register my team as soon as Hattrick.org goes back up.

1. Ok, I'm starting in V...does that mean it's going to be miserable for my team? Or should I just enjoy the better money? What are the biggest idffreneces between V and VI?

2. How much of a difference does position make? I have a wingback who has Solid scoring. Don't I want him at forward? Can't I just put him there?

Thanks!

Also, I begin with 3 out of my first 4 matches on the road. Should I hold back on my stadium expansion because of this?

You should hold back on stadium expansion untill you start consistently selling-out at 7000 seats.

Starting in V will mean that, yes, you will probably get killed. Depends on the other teams in your series. You may be able to compete with a couple of the weaker teams. No big deal. Take your lumps & get your training program started.

You will probably demote to VI at the end of the season. Most of the VI series are full of bot teams which are generally very weak teams. (Although not all, there are some pretty strong series in VI) Pound the bot teams, build up your squad and you'll be set to compete in series V when you move back up after next season.

Thanks Pez Junkie.

Alright, I plan on training playmaking in a 3-5-2. Right now, I'm searching the transfer market for inner midfielders with passable playmaking. I'm seeing several 17-18 year olds with passable playmaking for REAL cheap. Shouldn't I grab these guys ASAP?

The reason I say ASAP is because I'll be training stamina at first, and these guys are probably valued low because of their low stamina. Shouldn't I get these guys in there now, so their stamina will raise with the rest of my team?

---Also, I'm running a 3-5-2 with 3 inner midfielders. As I understand it, I should change one of my central defenders to "Extra Inner Mid" and keep the two wingbacks set...right? If so, which of the Inner Mids should I have being defensive...will that automatically be the converted center defender player?

---How good of a goaile should I spring for? Mine is weak, but should I even worry about upgrading him if my team is gonig to suck anyway? Would I better off just buying all my trainess?

Damn, you guys are going to be pissed at all of my questions :)

If you change one of your CD's to an IM that doesn't mean that he will play defensive, in fact you don't really want to have any of your PM's play defensive cause that can take away from their PM ability. What you are planning to do, in taking a CD and making him a IM, that is what I personally do, but some people stick with 2 CD's and just remove a wingback, it all depends on how you want to play. For where you are starting it's probably good to get those 17-18 year old passables, at 17 depending on where they are, they can be solid by the end of this season. Those should be good ones to buy to start out at least.

With goalies, you can get some passable ones for anywhere up to 90K, but you can get an inad for around 10 probably. If you want a passable, I have one on the TL for $45K if you want to try and get him.

Don't worry we won't get too mad about answering questions, most of us are pretty nice in answering them without too much scouffing. :)
