I don't think you'll get much for him. He's fairly old already and that inadequate rating is not good either. You can try to sell him, i'd just fire him.
How deep in debt are you? If you are hovering around 50-100K in the red, but are making money every two weeks, then just tough out the interest hit.

I'm at $-94 358. I'm making about $1,500 a week.
All because of this guy i accidentally bought for $180,002. Should I sell him? Also, should I hire an economist?

Last season, I sold a 20 yr old Inad keeper with a TSI of 1020 for a whopping $2000.

sure hire an economist. http://www.databased.at/hattrick/x-ray/index.asp?starter=econray use that for help. and i would sell that dude although i dont think you'll be getting $180,000 for him but you should get out of debt
We should probably consider starting a new thread as anything over 500 really taxes the Big Soccer servers.....
Thoughts?

nah, i dont think that is the best idea. this thread is more of a manual for newbies. when they come in here, all their new questions can be answered in this one thread and it makes it very convenient. a lot the advice is to scan through this thread, a lot of great advice has been given. i think we should keep letting it go

How about this?
1) Create & sticky a new newbie advise thread
2) Close, but leave sticky'd this thread.
or
2a) Close, leave sticky'd, and prune this thread down to a large FAQ post.

Ok, another bunch of stupid question....
1. How often is form calculated? Does it happen with the daily updates or only once with the Training update on Thursday?
2. With form going up and down in cycles, besides making sure the player plays, is there anything a manager can do to insure better form (other than training for it) or do you just ride out the cycle?
3. What is a good measure of Division 6 and 5 team? Skill wise etc.

GPK makes good sense. I think we close this one but leave it stickied. Pruning it may be a good idea as well, especially if we decide to leave it stickied. I think option 2a is best.

1. Form is calculated only on the training update day. Thursday night for the US.
2. Train at 100% and have the best trainer level you can. Once you have done all those, plus what you stated above then the rest is up to the vagaries of the game engine, i.e. ride it out. I will strongly suggest this, don't ever, ever, ever train general. It costs you a week of skill training.
3. It varies. The many series in V and VI have different strength levels. The rule of thumb I used was having solid in all my non-training positions. I am currently in 2nd in my V series. I am in no real danger of relegation. Your results may vary.

Is the tiredness special event also one where the player gets too tired and needs to be replaced? No, he doesn't need to be replaced, the only way a player gets replaced is if they go off injured.
So Craig, do you think its better to play the passable defender / passer with wretched stamina or the inedaquate defender / passer with passable stamina - form being equal?Form being equal... I'd probably take my chances with the passable with wretched stamina.

Actually this might be a good idea, create a new advise thread, and then use 2a, we have mods that can prune the thread down, I mean Chris does nothing at work, he could do it ;) That is actually a very good idea, I like using 1 and 2a. Anyone else like that idea?

This is a good thread for new players to post for advice, but it's way too big for somebody to just sit down and read end-to-end. Besides... a lot of it is the same question answered multiple times.
Maybe we could break it down by topic into 3 or 4 threads? Like one for Training questions... one for Tactics questions, etc... We could keep those locked, and the mods could move posts from the Advice thread into one of those.

Seperating them would take too long. What we could do is find out who specializes in a certian skill and create a thread titled: Ask ___ about ___

I'd suggest creating a newbie advice guide and stickying it, definitely.
Then either keep this thread up and running so that people have a place to ask questions, or directing people to ask questions in the Hattrick thread.
I tend to lean toward having this thread and a separate FAQ both stickied.

I agree Kevin... one thread for questions and then one thread with default expert advice.

Why would my sponsors get irritated? I havent lost a game and the fans are delirious. What caused the sponsors to go down?

No. Division 6 team. Didn't think I needed spokespeople...
What made them angry and what happens if they stay angry?

Spokespeople are helpful to have no matter the division, they help you bring in more money from your supporters, and they can usually help at least a little in helping raising the sponser mood.
On what made them mad, I really don't know, and if they stay mad, I believe you make less money from them, but I coudl be wrong.
