I know danks already sold this guy (for a pretty penny indeed), but I'm just curious:
Craig P, you suggest that this trainee makes training playmaker a no brainer. My (completely unexperienced, and no doubt wrong) call would have been to go winger.
My reasoning would be that the while playmaking and passing are both good secondaries for a winger. Winger is of no value to an IM. Therefore I would expect a high level winger with solid PM and passable passing to fetch signigantly more than a high level playmaker with solid winger and passable passing.
Are my assumptions off? Does winger effect the performance of IMs? Or is the market for IM's just *that* much better that "wasting" a rating of solid winger comes out in the wash?
I don't think you can go wrong either way really. Winger doesn't add anything to a innermidfielder but it is important should you ever want to play a winger towards the middle and act like an extra IM. VERSATILE players is the way hattrick is going now. Players who can do two or three things if they need to are always going to be in high demand. So whether he is a brilliant winger with solid PM or vice versa some day down the line it doesn't really matter.

Also the winger market seems to not be that great either. I could be wrong, but with the changes for 6.6 all the winger trainers were pissed off about those changes.

After my first sellout (7,000) 2 weeks ago, stadium expansion jumped into my head (hey, I know you all went through the same feelings after your first sellout!). How many weeks of sellouts, generally, should one go through before actual expansion? Also, how large should one expand to?

How do I browse foreign series so that I can challenge their squads to friendlies?
upper left corner of your screen, pull down the drop down... then in the menu on your left, click on the name of the country and do a search. Then you can search through the various series. Not sure if there's a better way to do this...

hattrix files has an arena sizer, but I'm not sure what they base their reccomendations on.
7000 is too small period. I'd double it and go with that for while.
edit--actually, I did the 7000 was too small with the assumption that you were in D.V. If you're in D.VI, it depends on your schedule and when/if you're promoting. If most of your opponents are bots, then maybe hold off for a while. What's your team Qamle?

Alpine Valley United FC 223961 D.VI no promotion at the end of this season. My supporters number at 550-ish. No bots

here's the website for the hattrix arena sizer. http://www.databased.at/hattrick/x-ray/index.asp?starter=arenasizer
By manually entring your arean size and supporter size info, I got them to give me a suggestion, whcih was basically to increas to about 14,000. This might be a little optimistic, but a 13,750 seat stadium will only cost you ~$5000 more a week. the added income from basic seating, seats under roof, and VIP seats should be more than enough to cover that. Plus, $5000 is really not that much in HT terms.

That guy would make a really good all-around winger trainee too. I really should have mentioned him as a possible winger, because the thought did cross my mind. Still... as far as maximizing his earning potential, I'm not sure if passing is as valued for mid-level wingers as it is for mid-level playmakers (say, outstanding to brilliant range).
Also, I disagree that winger is of no value to an IM. An IM with some winger skill has value as a potential winger towards the middle, particularly if a potential buyer is thinking ahead to the time when they're ready to upgrade the IM position.

hattrix files has an arena sizer, but I'm not sure what they base their reccomendations on.They do some kind of analysis of your past attendance now. I still think they tend to tell you to go too low on VIP seats, but I haven't gotten around to actually running numbers to see if my own experience with an overbuilt VIP section confirms that.

How much revenue do you earn for each category?

For D.VI I would say that 14000 is a good number, as along as your not losing every game. I'm 3rd in my league, with a 14000 seat stadium and the only time I got less than 7000 was after I lost 3 out of 4 and my fans were angry. Expansion for your stadium is always a good idea.

How much revenue do you earn for each category?I don't remember offhand... I'm pretty sure it's in the rules, and it's probably also be in Hattrix files somewhere.

Hey guys, I would just like to post some random advice for the n00bs here. :D
When searching for the transfer market... NEVER search for a certain position. Leave that dropdown menu set to anything.
Just search for the skillsets you want. Case in point I just bought a solid winger with inadequate passing/playmaking/defending for 75k because some dope in the 9th division in spain listed him as a centerback.
Nobody was bidding on him. A comparable player i was looking at in USA listed as a winger is at 150k right now with a half hour left to go.
Remember! Search for anything. Then define the skill parameters.

I like that one Dex. How about, make sure the team whose player you are bidding on is not playing a game when you bid on him. It hides injuries during that time and you could get saddled with a 6-week POS.

Sad thing is, when I got burned by it, I just thought I had been blind and not seen the red cross. I didn't find out till recently (like a week ago) that is what had actually happened.

How do you see how much your spokespeople are making for you?

How do you see how much your spokespeople are making for you?Well, you can't tell, for sure, because all you get is one big sponsorship dollar figure that includes the effect of the spokies as well as a certain amount that you'd get anyway. The best you can do is track the changes in your sponsorship money and attribute it all to the spokesmen, but that's not strictly accurate I don't think because there's also a fan club size component to it.
The accepted wisdom is that spokies generally pay for themselves and you should hire as many as you can afford.

i think the best thing to do is to hrie 10 in the beg. of season, and fire them one by one as season rolls along. Towards the end of the season, the sponsor increase becomes less than 1000 per week no matter how many spokes you have, and i don think that's worth the 15 000 for hiring 10 spokes.
