Not sure if anyone has a clue to this question, but here goes.
I'm training defenders, should I put the wing defenders towards the middle or leave them at normal? I wasn't sure if leaving them at normal would slow their training as they are playing a more wingback role instead of straight central defender.

Leaving them at normal will not hurt their training. All playing them TM will accomplish is strengthening your central defence and weakening your wing defense and attacks.

None of the Offensive/defensive/towards middle/towards wing have any effect on training. Only repositioning does (i.e. wingers get 1/2 playmaking training.. or wingbacks get 1/2 winger training.)
When training defenders, your central defenders & wingbacks all get the same amount of training.

question I can lock up my series this weekend with a victory or a draw I believe. Should I start playing some of my younger players to get them some experiance?

there are a couple of considerations here. The experience is nice, but if you want to promote you probably want to try to autopromote. If you can stay above teh autopromote line with your scrubs, than go for it.

When training youngsters, do they get any extra training benefits if they play 2 games in a week?

No, there is no benefit to playing a player in two league games training wise. So you want to play as many players as you can in the position that you are training.

Additionally, if they do play twice in a week and they play in different positions, then they only get training for the last position they played.

Nice, so if I I'm training PM, and a winger of mine plays midweek at IM, he'll get more training?
Also, do I understand the following correctly? Playmaking trains IM's 100% and wingers 50%? And if so, are the wingers trained at winger or PM?

They get 50% of PM training.

He'll get the 100% training that an IM would get for his midweek game. He would not get an extra 50% for the winger during the league match if that is what you are asking.

Also, if you play a winger at IM for your friendly, you will have less training spots. I think it's a better strategy to have 6 trainees at 100% (IM spots) and 4 at 50% (wingers) than 6 trainees at 100% (3 Ims from league games, 2 wingers from league games trained at IM in friendlies and one more IM trained in friendlies) and 2 at 50% (wingers from friendlies).

When you train PM does it train playmaking and passing or attributes as well?

Not sure what you mean by attributes, but the only thing that gets better when you train playmaking is the trainees' playmaking skill. To improve passing, you have to train passing. to improve stamina, you have to train stamina. etc. etc.

Gotcha.
How important is a coach's experience? I just canned a inadequate coach in favor of a solid trainer. However the inadequate coach had brilliant experience whereas my solid coach has wretched.

Experience doesn't mean ******** for current coaches. It matters when you want to convert a player to a coach, but once a coach is a coach it don't mean nothin'.

I've just started in D5, I believe, and will soon be relegated into D6. I'm told I have a very poor side so I figure I will try to rebuild my side through pulling youths which may take some time, but I'm patient.
So my question is how big should my squad be while rebuilding? Just the 16 needed to field a full side or a full 2nd team?
