Yes, but if you use hattrick buddy you'll have to manually add the player into the match details.

K thanks, and thanks to you too Chris, I just had a total brain fart and couldn't remember if he would get training or not, he's only a few weeks from outstanding, which I can't wait for.

Or you could just leave him out and he'll pop a week early and be a surprise :)

That's what I was planning on doing anyways, always nice for a surprise. BTW, you get my DVD of the SJ game from Andy tonight?

Newbie here, got my team about a week ago (started same time as Stogey) and I've got all my training and trainees set, new coach and listed most of my guys that are worth money. I have roughly 100K left and not sure if it's best to hold onto it or invest in some older players to fill in the mid and forward (training defense). If I'm not selling or buying any players and my only investment weekly is wages, 20K for youth and they 1.5K youth pull. What kind of income can I expect as a small club (VI level, 7K stadium) on a weekly basis?

I'd like to get either some older guys in mid/for or invest in better trainees, but I don't want to put myself in too much debt doing so.

I sold out my 7k stadium on sunday for a total revenue of 40k. Also I got around 30k from my sponsors. Of course, after all of my spending, it doesn't leave me profit!

And make sure to remember you want to maintain a profit over two weeks not just the one week.

Hopefully I draw that well, havent had a home league game yet. If so probably will upgrade my stadium before getting any new players.

there's nothing horrible abotu going into debt--if you don't go too far. I'd buy a few older (25+) solid IMs (you can get ones with bad stamina for ~$50,000), train their stamina in the offseason, and then focus on your defense. The IMs should give you a good enough midfield to not lose simply because you never had possession, and your defensive trainees will slowly get better making it harder to score on you. In a few seasons, sel those trainees and buy some forwards.

What is the link for the tool that will tell you what series/division you'll be playing against in qualifying games?

I'm in 5th right now, with the lowest possibility of placing 6th. This means I'm definately playing a qualifying game, but I'm not sure exactly how that works. Helgallen had said I'll most likely play a Bot team...but how does he know that? Does finishing 5th or 6th make a difference?

Thanks!

Go to the hattrick cup rank page: http://www.lysator.liu.se/~frid/hattrick/HTCR/

Find the US, click on "FullList", and find your team (lead united?).

You are currently ranked 1840th in the US (congrats!). The link on theleft is your projected 1st round cup opponent; the link on the right is your projected qually opponent (or autodemo/promo replacement),if any. Right now you are projected to play Helix, the 3617th ranked team that is 1st in VI.423. They're a bot with a crappy mf and offense and an ok defense. But these rankings will change a TON between now and the end of the season. Don't worry about them until week 13.

And, theoretically, by finishing in 5th you should get an easier opponent in your qually. But you might get someone who is really good from a series that is also really good. The algorithim only weights points and goal differential, not strength of schedule, so it's pretty random. Hattrick needs the BCS(or at least the RPI)!

Re: Clowns (and our new clown poster on the transfer thread)

Clowns are popular players with solid leadership. They become your "team leader," and have some effect on team spirit. Just how much, however, is open todebate--itseems like your coach may have more of an effect on TS. You can pick up a clown for ~$50k-$100k, but if you have a coach with poor leadership, save your money and buy better IMs instead.

Don't pull the mask off the ole Lone Ranger
