i train midfield along with prob most of the hattrick world.
FYI: From hattrick supporter, Global training statistics.
Type #teams Percentage
General 90520 22%
Stamina 28528 7%
Set Pieces 3930 1%
Defending 58069 14%
Scoring 56241 14%

The vast majority of teams train midfield or general (probably people who didn't read the rules and don't know any better). In the USA, only 12% train general and 29% train playmaking (IMs).

Anyone know the average price for inad/pass midfielders from 17-19yo?

In the USA, only 12% train general and 29% train playmaking (IMs).And don't forget the bot and ownerless teams. All of them train general automatically. That is why the American number training general is also so high. With 6 divisions and only about 5200 active teams that leaves quite a few bot teams to train general.

Inadequates are cheap. Dirt cheap. Depending on secondaries, passing the most valuable, figure about 5 to 15K. With inadequate passing or higher that number will shoot up to 25K.
Passables are more expensive. Figure prices to start at 50K for barebones mids.

Can you buy the players from bots' teams?

Danks make sure you are playing your players in their correct positions. You have an 18 year old with the highest TSI on your team yet he got zero stars in your last league match playing as a defender.
Logic tells me he is not a defender but has good skills elsewhere. What is his highest skill and in what skill area?
He is no other than the Zidane in making, Glenn Peterson (was that Tom Green's sidekick?) He is 18, has a TSI of 2910, and is solid at both winger and playmaking. He enjoys long walks on the beach and prefers brunetes over blondes. I've already told kopite this, but I figured I'd post it so the rest of you can be jealous/offer me 5 million for him.
And he played at defender because he was chewing gum on the team bus. That or the fact that I didn't touch my team until after I loss my first game 11-1.

Now that is the kind of insight we need! :)

This coming from the owner of a team with a pregnant midfielder. :D
And since I don't think anyone has answered it. Nope, can't buy the players from a bot team.

You got that good of a player off the bat? My highest TSI was 950, a 27 year old solid striker who only fetched me 75K.
Lucky bastard.

Ok, I know I ain't a noob anymore, but I can't actually remember this particular point about training. If my player got a red card in the league match, does he get training this week? I couldn't remember if he does or does not. Thanks.

We all have money to spare :)
Speak for yourself Mark, my money is currently being saved to make some buys this offseason to replace some older players on my squad.

I got a player like that when I started, he was a little older, but he was solid in defending, passable playmaking and solid scoring. Very nice player, he's actually gonna be sold soon, he's getting up there in years

Nice guy indeed. I had a Solid Defender/Scorer and a Solid Passer. I'm jealous.

Thank you.
How long will my 300k last me? I've made one minor buy (15k) and I'm spending 20k a week for my youth team. Other than that I have no major outlays. I am considering hiring a new coach, would that screw me financially?

Hire a new coach immediately. Go for a passable trainer. It's worth the money if you want to get your guys trained quickly.
I wouldn't spend all of your money right away. Figure out how the market works and when a good deal comes your way. 300 should last you a while. I've spent about 350,000 in 3 weeks time or so.

Yes, but if you use hattrick buddy you'll have to manually add the player into the match details.

My Advice: Sell him for some nice cash. Upgrade your stadium. Get 3 (or more) passable trainees (and a new coach if you can afford it) and your team will be cranking in a few weeks! Your in an awesome position to start with your team. Winning can happen next season :)
