Has he totally forgotten that he is still in BS Cup? I do not understand how one can forget something like this.

Another reason to have only poster eligible for the Cup. If he posted everyday he would realize the cup is still going on.

Now that I think about it, has he ever posted on the forum?

I don't know, I personally don't remember his name, I'm gonna check the register thread to see if he is in there, so I have an idea of who he is. After checking the resgister thread, I can't find him on there either.

Paging ur_land, we could use a decision on the walkover thing.

I almost had a problem. I'm involved in another friendly cup, but decided to stick with this one since it is already through the halfway stage of round 1.

I would say have it be a walk over and maybe make that a rule from now on. If a team does not respond or has scheduled another friendly, then have it be a walk over.

As the consensus seems to be walkover, let's do that. Norge is out, until we hear from him, and Spiro has a 5-0 win this week. This'll probably mess up seedings for the final round, but who cares? It's just a friendly tourney....

ur_land has spoken. do y'all agree?

I'm not in BS Cup, but in another private cup, we're doing walkovers as 3 - 0 instead of 5 - 0, because it seems to have a less extreme impact on standings. Of course, in the instance where it happened, it was an oversight by the teams involved and I think they both scheduled games as normal afterwards. This is something that might be influenced by the games played (if there are any) by the teams that have gone walkover.

I agree on the walkover, but Craig's idea makes logical sense, maybe make it a 3-0 walkover this week, have Spiro HT-mail Norge and make sure they set the friendly next week. Does that work? If not I'm all for the 5-0 walkover. Your call ur_land.

[Side bar]man, I'm putting a lot of crap on ur_land LOL I'm sorry about this, I just want this thing to move along faster then the snails pace group C is going at. [/Side bar]

Since Norge has already scheduled a friendly, I don't see any reason for you to not schedule one of your own. There is really nothing you can do beyond that at this point. The thing that really needs to be determined at this point is whether or not we give you a walkover win to you and move on to the next round of the tournament for Group C.

Sorry, I didn't know I was still in the Cup. In the original thread where I signed up I was only in a group with 2 other teams, I lost to one of them 4-0 and then tied the other 3-3 (won 3-2 in penalty kicks) and figured that the team who beat me 4-0 was advancing, so I was out. I couldn't find the thread I had signed up in to see what was going on, so I just assumed I was out of it. I just found this thread today, so sorry Panthera FC. If you want to play the match next week I'll play you. Again, sorry, but like I said, originally when I signed up and the groups were posted there were only two other teams in my group. :/

Also is this single round robin or double round robin? I thought it was just one and since I had played my only opponents, I figured I was done. If there are more games, let me know. Now that I found this thread I will be ready and willing to play any more cup games that I have left... if it's not too late.

I don't want to sound like a baby, but being 3-1 down this early in the match, I would like to bring up a point that I found out while researching Norge,
1) he has 21 players plus a coach on his roster.

2) here is the roster from his last league game Craanen - Vogeler, Barrero, Storie - Lockwood, Chit-Fu, Bales, Görnitz - Lara, Bourque, Mevissen, match ID 17300086

3) here is his lineup tonight, Hövel - Puig, Barrero, Storie - Shea, Cooke, Bales, Görnitz - Lara, Portillo, Bourque

Those 6 names in bold all appear on both teams. The problem I have is with 21 players, he should have no problem fielding enough different players. I thought the rule was 5 players most from your first team. If I end up losing this, I would like to make a protest to the result.

That's just my bias opinion from the guy that is losing 3-1 right now. :(

Ok I was reading through the posts to see what I missed and saw this. In the original thread I signed up in, they asked to list your starting lineup. Since I'm fairly new to the game and my team isn't that good (my overall record is 3-14, counting the PK victory over Rangers as one of the 3 wins) I really don't have a starting lineup yet. I'm starting to get one now, but back then I was changing players every week. I still am, here was my lineup for my five most recent games, including the two he listed in the quote above:

Posted Above for League: Craanen - Vogeler, Barrero, Storie - Lockwood, Chit-Fu, Bales, Görnitz - Lara, Bourque, Mevissen

Posted Above for Friendly: Hövel - Puig, Barrero, Storie - Shea, Cooke, Bales, Görnitz - Lara, Portillo, Bourque

League Match between Friendlies: Hövel - Vogeler, Barrero, Puig - Lockwood, Cooke, Chit-Fu, Görnitz - Lara, Portillo, Mevissen.

Last Friendly: Craanen - Vogeler, Barrero, Puig - Lockwood, Cooke, Bales, Shea - Lara, Portillo, Bourque.

Last League Match: Hövel - Vogeler, Storie, Barrero - Lockwood, Chit-Fu, Bales, Shea - Lara, Portillo, Bourque.

Also, I have had 2 guys injured (Benitez and Bailey) for the last few weeks and also my coach (Lily) is so terrible that there is no way I'm putting him on the field. So really, I only had an 18 man roster for that match, not 21. Now I am down to 17 as I recently cut a player and two of my guys are still injured (now it's Bailey and Puig though).

Hovel and Craanen are my keepers. I'm training goalies so they each play one game a week.

Barrero, Vogeler, Storie, Benitez (who was injured), and Puig are my only defenders... so I had to use at least 2 of them twice.

For wings I really only have 3 guys who can play it: Lockwood, Shea, and Gornitz, so I had to play one of them in both games.

For midfield I have Bales, Mac Rae, Chit-Fu, and Cooke. Chit-Fu, Cooke, and Bales are all pretty much the same level so I just randomly put them in each game. Mac Rae is terrible, he played once, got 0.5 star rating and hasn't played since... I dunno why he is still on my roster.

And then for forwards I have Lara, Borque, Mevissen, Portillo, and Bailey (who was and is still injured). Since I run a 3-4-3 formation, and only had 4 avaliable forwards, two of them had to play in both games...

And then like I said, I have Lily as my coach, and his ratings are so bad, there is no way I'm playing him either. So it's not like I was trying to cheat. I already have a pretty shallow bench, and then with two guys injured, it was even worse. I haven't read up to what the decision on his 'appeal' was, but I just wanted to give my side of the story.

All right. I agree 3-0 is probably easier on the standings, lets go with that if ur_land agrees. As for Norge, I can see where the confusion comes in. Since Group C has reached the turnaround game, score the original Panatha/Norge game a walkover for Panatha and then have the second game and continue from there. Does that sound allright?

I think for the rest of this tourney and the next, everyone needs to post their starting lineups by Monday. This will guarantee the participants coming to the forum and keeping up on all the news.

Sure--this year of the tourney is really about figuring out how to do it and seeing if we all like it. Wlakover at 3-0 seem fair to me, especially for determining the 3rd place games.

I think your plan for group C is a good one.

don't know if I will be able to watch the games this week, everyone in my house is working on papers and I don't want to take the computers away from people that need it to do work, especially since I've finished my work. :) It'll be hard not being able to watch if I can't but I'll work hard to get on the computer to watch the Rangers and Scouser, match of the week at Rangers Park tonight.

BTW, any point for Chris and he is through in group A.

After much tension and excitement and the loss of my star forward to viscious play by the Untied, Dynamo pulls out the win in overtime. Whew.

Will be updating the BS page on my site.

Norge Vikings challenged me today and I accepted even though the match is supposed to be played at my stadium and it is scheduled at his. I did not want anymore controversyto arise so I just accepted it. I hope there is no problem with me doing this.

ur_land? My input, since it is too late to do anything about it now, just let it go...

Sigh. Next time, decline his challenge and issue him a new one. This time, unless anyone has strong objections, let's just let it go.
