Quarters start when? We are waiting on the final game(s) of the first round to be played, right?

Party at my house! The Mrs. left for Boston to see her brother graduate (BU) so I'm stagging all weekend. As long as we don't wake my little kiddies up and we can fit it around my Saturday ref schedule, the party's on! ;)

Woohoo. Party at Gunner's.

And I think the quarters will start on May 26 (HT time May 27) and a return game on the following Wednesday.

With the final group game tonight, I thought I'd bump this thread back up, there is still one place up for grabs in the knockout round, between Norge Vikings and Panatha FC. Norge needs a win over Scouser, who hasn't lost yet, and a lose by Panatha to me, Raytown, to go through. A win by me, and I take the two seed, and a date with Daverules in the Quarters. Awin by Panatha, and it would be Riverhawks vs. Daverules, and Panatha vs. either Dynamo or Scouser depending on how Scouser does tonight. Like I said, there are still many different scenarios, here are the number of teams that can finish in each place:

1st 1 seed: 2, Mongrel and Scouser
2nd 1 seed: 2, Dynamo and Scouser
3rd 1 seed: 2, Dynamo and Scouser
1st 2 seed: 1, Daverules
2nd 2 seed: 3 Panatha, Raytown, Riverhawks
3rd 2 seed: 3 Panatha, Raytown, Riverhawks
1st 3 seed: 3 Panatha, Raytown, Norge
2nd 3 seed: 1, DC Untied

My orders are set I have posted my line up here somewhere yesterday and I am ready.

It's a pity I will be at my 8 year old's footy practice during the first half, but I expect a commanding 5-0 lead by half time :D

With your starting defense in, I expect a shut out Mark, nothing less. And you need a commanding win to even have a shot at the 1 seed overall.

well the group rounds are now complete, I defeated Panatha in a close match 4-3, that went back and forth. One question though, is the first game of the Quarters at the higher or lower seed? I am assuming at the lower ala MLS playoffs, that is the way I challenged Daverules, who is my opponent.

Here are the matchups for the Quarters, the higher seed is listed first
Mongrel vs. DC Untied
Daverules vs. Raytown Rangers
Scouser Tommies vs. Panatha
Dynamo KC vs. Riverhawks.

with these decided, I have to second the idea Mark had in the rules thread about working it out so that teams from the same division don't play each other in the quarters, like the World Cup.

First games should take place next week, there will most likely be a thread to post lineups, make sure to post them, and remember, that for every first team player over the limit that your team fields, your team is deducted 1 goal.

This is yet another thing to work out in the rules thread, but I believe that I said that the first game will be at the lower-seeded team. If I didn't say it, I meant to say it!

You did say it, but is the original see we base it on, or the new seeding based on the group play.

New seeding based on group play.

I thought of something last night, the final and third place game I beleive are going to be on the week of qualifiers I think. This possesses a problem for the whole number of first teamers. If neither team has a qualifier to play that week, are they both allowed to play their first team in the final? So that they can keep their training regimine
