BS Cup Season 22

so I lose 1-4 to dc untied...gotta say I'm pretty dissappointed. He's had 17 players since the beginning of this Cup, when it was made clear early on you could play a MAX 4 guys from your previous league game...

I counted 7 from his last league game and at least one deep reserve (Morelos) on the bench for both....anyone else think he should be docked pts?...

I think next BS Cup there change in rule is you must have 22 players. On the other hand it would be funny to see how the mismatches with the normal XI.

Maybe not docked points for a short lineup, but the boy never shows his head in here and he certainly never posted his lineup like he was supposed to. That should be docked points at the minimum. I can understand financial problems but give me a break, how about some cheap, old inadequates.

And the point of the BS cup was to provide friendlies for regular posters. Hello, when does he ever post here?

(walks into the room head down in disgrace)well that sucked, with Scouser having such a better midfield, I thought maybe I would try CA, shows how much that worked for me. That and I lost a mid trainee for a week, and a forward for four, not a good game at all ...

... I now badly need to win the game next week to retake second place in the group. (turns and sadly leaves the room after the severe beating Scouser gave me.)

I'm not going to rule on DC untied's points issue b/c any points docked from him have the chance of puttin gme in the knockout round. Discuss amongst yourselves.....

Well here is the strange part. DC Untied accepted the challenge. I find it lame that I had to challenge him. Since he is playing with mostly starters, I figure I might as well play a few starters myself. This is where I think there is some frustration.

also, 7-0 at half, means I played you even in the second, a very, very small victory for me there. Ok I am grasping at straws to find a positive out of that game, the only thing I find is that I scored on you, and the fact that my excellent forward will get to pull double duty in both league and BS Cup, due to the injury you gave Zhou which will keep him out 4 weeks. That just means you screwed Panatha and Norge by giving me that advantage.

Also, I don't think that's fair that DC United doesn't get pointed taken away for using more starters than he is suppose to but I only got 1 point for my victory over Raytown. Like I explained, I had numerous players injured so even though my official roster size was 21 (that's including the coach who doesn't play...) I really only had 18-17 guys who could have played, which is the same situation as DC United. Either I should get my full 3 points for that win or he should only get 1 for his. Let's at least be consistant with it...

You get screwed because I play you next, and you just happened to play me the same week my star forward has to miss the league match due to yellow card accumulation, which means I'll play him in the cup match to get him a game this next week. :) Good luck in the game though, and I got the score reported, was up watching all the games the other night on ht-live, was up til 2:30 am doing it too.

Also, looking at your post above this one, a win is only 2 not three points, I was confused about that to start too, just telling you.

Zeek is right, if we "screw" him (I bet Kopite is salivating already, hearing that) we should deduct points from Untied as well. He was nailed by the injury bug and things are just as out of control for him as they are for Untied who is deep in debt and can't afford a full roster of players. Either both got full points for wins, or neither does. And frankly, Untied still deserves to get booted from the tourney for not posting his rosters like a good little poster.

Since the inaugural BS cup is nearing completion, maybe it would be a good idea to start discussing the rules for the next one? ur_land, are you still interested in running #2?

I suggest a thread to hash out the rules for next season and use this first one to figure out what rules we need to add/change.

my vote is to dock dc untied as we did for other clubs that we over the limit, have to be fair about it.

I'm personally gonna stay out of this discussion like I have been trying to do, because of personal bias, but I do believe that if we do things to one team it should apply to all teams. On the point of next year, I agree that we need to start a thread to hash out problems and get a set group of rules down, so that people know what the rules are before hand and can make necessary changes to comply with those rules.

Ok--the consensus seems to be to dock DC untied 1 point and add one point to his opponent. I agree that it is important to be consistent. [god voice]LET IT BE DONE![/god voice]

And no one is "screwing" anyone (except maybe the wacko jackos)--it just sometimes takes a little while for official pronouncements to get handed down. The rules for this cup were an initial attempt--and I think that the cup next season will be much smoother once we make some changes and once everyone who signs up agrees to them from the beginning.
