Nice article from the beeb regarding SG:

Seems to me this is well deserved, and good for LFC as well. It really underscores how hard Gerrard is working...
...and it goes without saying I'd rather see SG with the armband than that other daft tw*t any day. (Whoops, I think that part belongs on another message board).

He looks great in that photo with the armband on
It suits him and he should keep the job when Becks and Mikey are fit again.

umm, lets not take it too far...i mean sure, stevie is a great skipper for the reds and will there is no doubt in my mind that he will be for england on weds in the absence of becks...but thats exactly it, in the absence of becks...lets not forget who brought us to the world cup in 02' and carried us to the quarters with the win against argentina in the group stages....im not trying to knock stevie in any way..he is one my favorite players and is a giant in the midfield, and would of been very valuable to england in japan, and of course will most likely be the successor of david beckham, but david changes the game just with his presence on the pitch, he is our leader and will be until its time to turn in the armband to gerrard, but not any time soon.....

It will be a great experience for Steven Gerrard to lead his country in a match... could even help him become a better captain for Liverpool in the future. :)

I agree...i think that stevie is a great player with a hard edge and a very strong presence...traditionally he fills the skipper role better than beckham...but becks is so quality that he makes a good leader. Stevie will do fine in the role, he is the skipper of the great Liverpool FC...i hope he can lead liverpool to some glory if Mr. Houllier can stop ruining our season and blaming everything on refs and other crap excuses...Liverpool FC needs better Mr. Houllier...stop signing flops and injury prone players (finnan, diao...) and get rid of diouf..he is horrible!

Welcome to the board, jtowns.
Now just because you are "an unknown quantity at this point," don't let that stop you from voicing your opinion. Feel free to get stuck in a la Stevie and let us know what you think.
Again, welcome.
