just hope he won't bring in too many holland players. i'm afraid he might choose van devaart over Diego or even his beloved Schaars from AZ. no no, we have too many DMs already

Are you kidding? This is the BEST news. We now know what direction we will be headed based on someone's track record. That was the mystery in Bayern ever taking the chance on Jürgen... it was not your typical Bayern move.... meaning 'unsafe'.

This makes sense and is needed. It will also draw players I believe as well. And I think it says "Bayern is serious about their future", which is still uncertain a this juncture. At least we know where we are likely headed after that.

As if you guys have dibs on Diego or something??

If Diego goes to Juve, why not get vdV??!!

vdV would play his freakin' ass off for LvG.

I am all for either, to be frank. I have been a fan of both. And both do something NO ONE seems to care to do anymore at Bayern and that is strike the ball from range - both often and accurately!

I am not picking... judging by my taste on the transfer (*cough*FSC reporter*cough*) thread. ;)

I was thinking the same thing. He is already familiar with the league, etc...and was on a couple HSV teams that beat Bayern at the AA. IIRC.

Having said that, either VdV or Diego would be an upgrade and I would hardly be bitching about either one showing up.

Soccernet 'adjusted' their earlier article to match the finality of this move. FTWC.

Now that Real Madrid wants Ribery so bad, according to the spanish press, and that Zidane is supposed to help them in that, what about a swap of Ribery for Robben, van der Vaart, and Sneijder?

yeah right...:D

even then he is not an exceptional player and I'm pretty sure that he will never play for Bayern with Hoeness having the say there

I love that in the days leading up to this, speculation was that AZ wouldn't let vG go, and that to get him we'd have to pay a buyout fee to Alkmaar. Then Uli and KHR go to holland, and say "let him come to us for free, and we'll play a friendly with you guys, and not make you pay us for coming" and somehow that was all they needed hahaha.

Have to keep the papers in business and message boards in continuous "drama" mode.

Good news on van Gaal - experience with proven, highly successful, track record.

It's funny that van DerVaart has ben mentioned. Last week, or a few weeks ago, Real talked about selling off their Dutch players. And, since it's looking likely that Ribery will move to either ManU or Real, I immediately thought Bayern should go after van DerVaart or Sneijder, or both.

Now that van Gaal is coach, I could really see it happening.

That said, Bayern will certainly need to stregthen the back line, and goalkeeping (not sold on Rensing yet), as well as add overall depth.

VdV and Sneijder but not Robben?

As a form of thank-you to the Dutch club, Bayern will visit the Netherlands for a friendly against the freshly-crowned domestic champions. The Bundesliga club will not charge an appearance fee for the match, provisionally scheduled for summer 2010.

I'm in the wrong business. I will charge half price.

Was this really part of the deal?! lol
