I've seen this story in a couple of places now over the past few days. The original story was that it was Corradi (a striker) and Fiore, which seemed unrealistic as a striker is the last person we need. Fiore is very good though and a move for just him is fascinating, not sure what this would mean concerning both Diego and Van Bommel, although a central midfield pairing of Van Bommel and Fiore would be top class, Davies and Reid (or Van Persie) on the wings, 2 of our most inform strikers up front. Back 4 would be King, Gardner, Carr and a decent young left back. Hopefully all of this should be affordable, especially if the club dump the likes of Ziege, Poyet and Anderton and do some tough negotiating.

I wouldn't mind Fiore. That would certainly make the rumors of an Italian (Trap, Mancini, Capello) or Portuguese (Mourinho) coach stronger.

Also, IMHO, the team needs to get an additional central defender. This is a critical need. Gardner has had a great season, but it's his first that he's had relatively uninjured. I don't think King has ever had a healthy season. I don't know much about the Dawsone kid, but someone like him, Kevin Hofland, or the central defender leaving Milan (can't recall his name at the moment), looks like an important addition. But the key is Van Bommel. He is the one player that can pull it all together.

Laursen is the Milan defender.

Young left back..... Matthew Taylor of Portsmouth.

I think there would be bigger fish chasing Fiore. Juve, Milan, Inter perhaps. Serie A Italian players tend to move around their own giants rather than move to different countries.

I agree, but all of the Italian clubs are in a bit of a flux at the moment. Fiore is good but he's not considered world class, so I reckon it could happen.

Laursen is rubbish! I'd much rather have Dawson or Hofland. Laursen has no pace and doesn't have any leadership qualities or anything. He's not the worst defender in the world by any means, but the club could and should do better. I hope.

Yes i think so too. He's hardly featured for them at all, but considering who they do have it's no surprise.

I'd rather have a young Englishman or recognised Dutchman than a nearly man.
