I am looking for a good tournament to referee over July 4th weekend -- preferably one that is a premier level tournament. I live in Northern Indiana, but I am willing to travel for a good tournament.

Do any of you guys have a good recommendation?

Thanks.

Kev,

I doubt you're going to find any 'premier' tournaments around this time, since regionals either fall during (Region I) or right before July 4th. Most 'premier' teams are expecting attend regionals or nationals (or at least have to keep those options open) so they can't commit to other tournaments in that time period.

I'm sure there are some decent lower level tournaments around the holiday, but I wouldn't hold out for a marquee event.

Thanks, that's what I am finding out. July 4 used to be a big weekend for events, but everyone has moved off that weekend -- I guess Regionals are the reason.

I guess maybe I'll just take a weekend off.

July 1st is the date that new players from tryouts join the team. Teams wouldn't have any practice with the new players before the tourney - so it doesn't make sense to schedule something major.
