Let's say the unimaginable happens and we are wildly successful (15-5-10), will Piotr get the credit anywhere for leading United's transformation? I think he won't, which is a shame. If he coaches like he played, and pulls off the season record referenced above, I think he would be deserving. Everyone else will say it is all due to Freddy, what will you feel?

Well if Freddy scores a hat-trick in every win and comes off the bench to save us in every tie then maybe Nowak gets no credit, but I think you're being rather over-the-top here.
If we have such a season Nowak gets coach of the year, regardless of how much Freddy contributes. Sure, Time and Newsweek and SI will highlight Freddy Adu, but MLSnet and Soccer America and 90 minutes etc. etc. will give Nowak his due.

Well as far as the credit it depends on how we play and specifically it depends on who scores for us. If Freddy has 3 goals then he won't get credit, if Freddy has 25 goals then of course he will get some of the credit. Who knows...maybe Jaime goes crazy and scores 18 and has 10 assists and gets credit for ressurecting us.
Honestly i don't care who gets the credit, if we have a record like that.

Who got the credit for our first few years while Bruce Arena was the coach? Was it Bruce? ...or Marco? Jaime? RDA? Pope? Sanneh?
If we that kind of season, I think there will be enough "credit" to go around to everyone.
What happens if we finish worse than last year? Is it because Freddy (or Bobby, Earnie, Benny...) didn't live up to expectations or was it because Nowak didn't know what he was doing? Funny how those questions work, isn't it?
I dont really care who gets the credit as long as we kick some butt this year. I do think that Nowak has the ability to lead us back to the Title...but I thought Ray did to. Anyways, lets just get the W's and let the rest fall into place.

Nowak will be blamed for almost every success and every perceived failure, but so is every coach.

I know he will get plenty of "credit" if we suck. Rongen, and Ray proved this point rather nicely.
