I HATE THE YANKEES! I hate the fact that unless they are from New York, the rest of their fans are front-runners. I hate the fact that Jeffery Maier was made a hero for how he screwed the Orioles in the ALCS. I hate the fact that their television network makes more money that the Montreal Expos. I hate the fact that they aren't willing to help small market teams for the good of the game. I hate A-Rod, I hate Jeter, I hate Steinbrenner, and I hate Giambi who used to be a man's man in Oakland but now is a clean cut MetroSexual who does horrible Arm and Hammer commercials. I hate the Evil Empire and I loved watching the Marlins win the World Series and I will rejoice when they miss the playoffs this year. I HATE THE YANKEES!

There was no better feeling as a Mets fan than to watch the yankees lose the WS at home. Oh how beautiful was that.

I know it's kinda sad that we Met fans take joy in the Yankees shortcomings, but my GOD that was awesome! I'm already an honorary Diamondbacks, Marlins, Angels, and Red Sox fan.

A few years ago I figured that I needed to have a NL team to root for so I picked the Mets strictly because they hate the Yankees. Go Mets!

In all honesty...you probably could have picked any team, if hating the Yankees was the only prerequisite!

I hate Steinbrenner more than any of the players themselves. Well, except for maybe Sheffield and Brown. They got A-Rod. Good for them. But there WILL be an ego clash with him and Jeter at some point. And I really hope this year's strategy of acquiring anyone and everyone blows up in their faces. The one thing that gives all hope is that this offseason showed signs of getting away from what allowed them to build for the 1995-2003 and beyond? run.

gotta hate the yankees. steinbrenner eats babies.

BUT jeter is a fantastic player, those two plays the year the diamondbacks won the series. the first one where he cut off the throw to home and flipped it to posada to save the run. AND the play where he jumped to catch, as the cut-off, the ball and he turned in the air and threw a perfect throw to third to throw out the runner.

as much as i hate the yankees, jeter...

the city of baltimore should purchase jeffery maier and he should be stoned publicly.

I'd be willing to put money in for that.

Funny story: SI did a story on where are they now and Jeffery Maier was a part of it. He was playing baseball for some small school. One of my friends was also playing college baseball and I told him that if they played that team he needed to throw one at Maier's head. My friend ended up getting cut from the team. So I was close to be a part of a stoning of Maier.

It's a glorius day for the I HATE THE YANKEES THREAD because they lost this morning to the lowly Tamp Bay Devil Rays! Riverplate predicted a wire-to-wire run and it's already dead! It's beautiful!

Could a mod add a [R] to the title of this thread?

That little puke was playing for Wesleyan College in Middletown, CT last I heard. I hope someone from my alma matter, Babson, drilled his ass. :D

For the sake of accuracy, can the title of this thread be changed to "The I HATE THE 26-TIME WORLD SERIES CHAMPION NEW YORK YANKEES thread"? Or perhaps the "Red Sox fans getting a jump on the whining" thread? How about the "My team won't pony up the dough to put together a winner" thread?

Bunch of Playa-Haters...

BTW: Everyone else's team sucks. Enjoy six months of futility before our 27th coronation. But hey... good seats still available.

Ok, just wanted to make sure you weren't hopping on the bandwagon.

Off the topic, you gonna check out a Padres game at PETCO Park? Sure as hell seems like a nice ballpark.

I'm pretty sure I said just what I wanted to in the title. I could change it to say the I HATE THE 0-1 YANKEES thread.

Or perhaps the "Red Sox fans getting a jump on the whining" thread?

This thread was started by a pure O's fan.

How about the "My team won't pony up the dough to put together a winner" thread?

My team bought Tejada, Palmeiro, Lopez, Ponson and actually lowered their payroll. I'm glad to know that you admit that Yankees bought their championships.

Bunch of Playa-Haters...

Please, Yankee haters. There aren't any playas on that team.

I'm pretty sure I said just what I wanted to in the title. I could change it to say the I HATE THE 0-1 YANKEES thread. Yes. I saw. We lost the first game of the season. Try waiting until, oh, maybe April to start running standings smack.

This thread was started by a pure O's fan.At least the Red Sox tradition is that of coming in 2nd. I'd take that over a tradition of irrelevance any day. Next time stick with the upgrade.

My team bought Tejada, Palmeiro, Lopez, Ponson and actually lowered their payroll. I'm glad to know that you admit that Yankees bought their championships. So many spoons... I know there's a knife in here someplace...

Oh, I've found it: At least when we pay big money for players, they deliver.

Please, Yankee haters. There aren't any playas on that team. More playas in the Yankee's laundry staff than in all of metro Baltimore. And they can hit for average better, too.

They really delivered last October.

From a fan of a team who hasn't even been eligible to buy tickets to a world series since "Walking on Sunshine" was a hit record... It was a painful end to a world series, but my team was in it. Your team was working on their fairway approaches.

BTW. 1-1 now. So much for standings smack.

Good seats are still available because your team's fans are afraid to go the Bronx at night, the glory-hunting cowards

I'm sorry, you're team spent $180 million and my team spent $45 million. We both ended without a championship. Deal with it.
