kind of a long shot but has anyone been on a set of easton EC70 wheels? these are on my radar and the price is right along with the specs. 38mm carbon hybrid clincher that i can still climb on and gain some aero credit. if you know of any other wheels in this catagory or have any experience with some, here is your chance to speak up.

I just ordered a set of Hutchinson Mountain Bike Tires. Does anyone have any input on these tires? I currently have the Bontracer Jones tires and they have not performed well imo....

i really like for our part of the country the conti Race Kings, maxxis Larsen TT's, and Schwable's Racing Ralphs. my winter tires are maxxis ignitors which roll surprisingly well for their tread pattern. the only hutchinsons i have ridden was the python and i thought they were awesome in a straight line but didn't grip as well in the corners. i only ride tires 2.2 or bigger. the hutch's were 2.0's and i could feel that. i do have hutchinsons on my road bikes and like them so far.

Yeah, we'll see how they go.. I should have them next week. I bought them because during my power output on the ones I currently have, my back tire would slip from time to time, causing loss of valuable momentum going up a steep slope. These are suppose to grip extremely well..

I personally have never used Hutchinson tires but have heard really good things about them. The tires I used and still do on my mountain bike have been the WTB Velociraptors and Nanoraptors. Not the fanciest tires but extremely fast on the dry single track you'll ride during a Texas summer. No slipping issues either going up hill which is a plus. Also compared to other tires on the market they are uber affordable.

texas single track screams for No Tubes Crow's. that tire is so damn fast. a friend rides them here but only in the dry summer months and swaps wheels if it has rained.

Just a report on those Hutchinson's I got in.. I noticed an incredible difference right off the bat. Lighter, and way more grip on my power output, and I was riding a very salty DORBA trail.. Very pleased..

Northshore...
Outstanding, that to me is the absolute best trail in the metroplex and something I actually miss about the Dallas area. Did you do the entire out and back with the steps and all?

Yeah, I did it all... I was whipped after finishing, partly because it was my first time back on the track in several weeks because of all the rain..

Ah yes the rain. At least ya'll are getting it somewhat consistently. We get two to three hours of intense downpour and then nothing for weeks or months. Anyways, I love that trail and consider it the funnest ride in the area offering a lot of variation to keep you focused. Have you been up to St Joe's to ride the ranch up there? If not take a weekend and some camping gear and get to know that place. It is a bit of a drive but the riding is awesome.

Hills for sure both fast and technical as well as combos of the two. Really a lot of fun and a chill place being that it is exclusively mountain biking for mountain bikers from mountain bikers. Definitely do it.
