Does anyone know where i can see an all time MLS table of all teams that have played in the MLS that shows their wins, losses, draws, goals for, against, games played since formation.

I have a whole database on the National soccer legaue in Australia and that has 41 teams in 27 seasons of the NSL who have participated. So the MLS database will be easier to, and smaller to deal with.

Could anyone help me please?

I know www.dcunited.com has some in-depth statistics and you could cross-reference the numbers in the other link with the database on dc's website to see if it is just regular season.

i want a table like this one:
http://australiansoccer.com.au/public/Article/show.asp?ArticleID=5790&lvl=3&menuItemID=239

as you see the NSL is in dire need of reform and i am glad the APL will be here soon :D

The MLS stats page, although a little awkard is actually pretty good with having numbers. I'm sure that if you look around the varios drop down bars that they have yuo'll be able to find what you're looking for.

Contact the league through mlsnet.com and ask them to send you a media guide once the season starts.

yeah i think i will do that! So i just email them for a media guide? I thought they would cost a few bob as the NSL one costs $15 AUS and that is like 150 pages :O

I don't know how much it will cost, I'm just saying that the media guide will have the information you're looking for.

Let me save you some money, GF (although I'm sure the media guide is really interesting; I'd like to get one for myself...); I ranked the tables by points, SOW's are shootout wins, which existed when the league ended tied games with a variation on pk's in the league's first four years. To get points, take 3*wins+ties-2*shootout wins

Shootout Wins were only worth 1 point.

Sorry, I wasn't clear about that. Since shootout wins were counted as 'wins' by the league, to adjust for them you need to add 1 point for the SOW but subtract 3 because it wasn't a regular win, netting -2pts/SOW.

I redid the table to include Shootout losses; both shootout wins and losses are included in the regular wins and losses columns, but it should be really easy to separate them if you want:

GP W L T Pts GF GA SOW SOL
L.A. 244 132 87 25 399 426 307 11 14

Thanks for that people! In the NSL table they have dismissed SOW & Losses as we had that in the 1993-1994 season to the 1995-1996 season. so if i don't include those in the table will that change anything? Or will i just add that to draws?

Thanks again.

To get rid of SOW's and SOL's, subtract them from the win and loss categories, respectively, and add them both to the ties.

I have this information through 2003... All teams w-l-t, Gf's/Ga's, points in reg season, MLS cup playoffs and overall.

But I don't know how to post it as a table.

Hopefully yours agrees with mine, but, if you've got it set up as a table already, just use [ code ] [ size=1 ]. You can also just quote my post on this thread to see how I did it.

Okay here it is...
One HUGE difference is that I converted all shoot-out games (reg & playoffs) into "ties"
