A lot of the last set of losses were down to writing off the likes of Rebrov, Thatcher and co. Come the summer when we lose high earners like Ziege and use the share issue money to buy players, things will look even better.

It's very good news, few clubs are operating with profit at the moment. At Chelsea the terms "profit and loss" don't really apply, everything's in the Red ;)
Arsenal and Man U are in profit, but Charlton, Fulham and Villa reported losses ranging from "small" to "substantial".

The very encouraging thing for the club is that it's only transfers and changes in player values which are leading to a loss, as it stands the cost of wages and other costs are all perfectly manageable. The club also made more money than last year with a lot less merchandise sold, I think next years figures should be really healthy especially with the new strips being released, new management and a few more new players.
