UI-Cup final: Stuttgart vs Lille, 8/28 (R)

$$$-game for Stuttgart, which has about 20 M debts and needs the UEFA cup desperately. Lille won the first game 1-0.

HT score today is 0-0, but it turns out to be a scandal game. Stuttgart scored two evidently regular goals (Seitz/19 + Amanatidis/45), but the assistant each time wrongly raised his flag because of offside. 2nd half starts soon.

What a thriller!!! Red card for a French defender in the 48th after stopping a ball on the line with his hand - but Balakov just hits the post with the pk. It was a mere one way game, but Stuttgart didn't take the chances - until crunch time started. Balakov scored the lead in the 81st with a 5m shot and 20 year old Kevin Kuranyi decides the game for Stuttgart in the 87th.

I watched a bit of this and I remember that the first offsides call to bring back the goal was just horrible, there would have been a lot of whining if they wouldn't have pulled through.
