The game is now official (USA Mexico, Dallas, 4-28), but the ticket situation is not yet exactly final.

We do know there WILL be a Sam's Army/US supporters section, and information will follow when we have it.

I know it is a midweek game, but if you live within driving distance, or can afford to fly in for this one, we could use all the lungs we can get!

What is typical number of maximum tickets allowed on Ticketmaster? Can't remember from Houston last year. But I will definitely be in for that many, and will pick up strangers in red to make up the difference, if I can buy more than needed.

Deep breath, but trust me when I say I u/s. :-)

From the information I've seen, all of the actual decisions have been made, now it is a matter of actually executing the decisions. While it doesn't look like tickets are going to go on sale this weekend as hoped, they should be on sale by the end of next week at the latest.

I think that website has a phone number you can call, but the way I know they want it done is to print off the form and either mail or fax it in. If you mail it in, you can use a check (what I generally do instead of using a credit card.)

Sounds great! Looking forward to seeing you there!

BTW - can we get an idea of how many out-of-towners might be coming, and whether y'all are coming for Tuesday night as well? We've had questions about a Tuesday night party and would be happy to put something together...

I called the number (which is a US Soccer number) and was told that all sales go through the Dallas Burn and I should fax the document on Sam's Army website in. One idea might be to call the Burn box office directly. According to their website that main number is (214) 979-0303.

I'll be coming in from North Carolina but will not arrive until Wednesday afternoon.

Awesome! Did you get your ticket situation taken care of? Do you have a place to stay yet?

What time on Wednesday will you arrive? Will you have time to do the tailgate?

Yup. My ticket came in the mail today. Our company always puts us up at a hotel in Addison. The bad news is that I'll have to drive back and forth across town...the good news is that I'm travelling on the corporate expense account! :)

I have a meeting in Carrolton from 1-4pm, then I plan to drop my bags at the hotel, exchange my tie for a scarf, and head on down to the Cotton Bowl. My understanding is that the Inferno and other Burn supporter's clubs are hosting a tailgate and I plan to make it to that as soon as possible.

Anybody have any secret tips for getting to the Cotton Bowl during rush hour?

My suggestion would be to bring your gear in the car, go straight to the CB from your meeting and change in the parking lot. Maximum tailgate time. :-)

Agreed. Change while driving. Hopefully we will have the nice inconvienence of putting up with a Stars or Mavericks playoff game at the AA Center.

My caravan may have a pickup in Lewisville (a bit north of Carrollton) and I am planning on heading south on 35, cutting over to Woodall Rogers to hit 75 south and taking Martin Luther King Blvd to the stadium. This link has some written directions.

Ticketmaster's soccer page (http://www.ticketmaster.com/browse?category=11&tm_link=tm_sports_b_11)

No word on maximum number of tickets allowed.

The USA v Mexico link is about two-thirds the way down the page, at this writing.

No guarantees if the direct link will work, but here it is (http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0C00387EF412911F?brand=&artistid=821723&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=11).

Don't sweat it too much. You are going against traffic. I would just get comfy at your hotel room and then head on down.

UPDATE on SAM's ARMY Section
as of Tuesday 4/13/04

OK - I've got my RED t-shirt, and my USA scarf, and a new RED, White and Blue Top Hat, and my ticket.

Are you ready for US vs. MEX?
Sam's Army wants YOU to come cheer the USA on!

How many tickets have been sold?

Almost half of the Sams Army tickets have been sold

Where are we sitting? Section 27 or 28?

We have both sections - kind of. Just remember that Sam's Army is GENERAL ADMISSION standing and cheering - your ticket gets you into the Sam's Army Section not to a specific seat, but we encourage every one to be polite if someone has purchased a ticket without understanding that and still insists on their 'seat'.

Let me explain how the seating is arranged at the Cotton Bowl.
Each section has an aisle way of stairs running through the middle of it - so Section 5 Row 5 Seat 1 would NOT be on an aisle - but in the middle of the seats located between two aisles.

US Soccer has blocked off the 1/2 of 27 and the 1/2 of 28 that make a physical 'section' between two aisles of stairs AND the part of section 28 that starts at the sideline and extends down to the concrete apron behind the goal line at the corner flag. ALL of these seats belong to Sam's Army - they are not for sale to the General Public.

For those familiar with the Burn configuration of old - this is the 'old' Inferno section and the section where La Mara Loca stands.

The computer system generates tickets based on 'best seat' - so, since section 27 is closer to midfield the computer considers it a better seat than section 28 - therefore, best seat is sold on a first come, first serve basis - section 27 is sold out except for about 9 more seats, then the computer goes to section 28 automatically.

Keep those orders coming - let's go ahead and force the Fed to give us more tickets! :-)

Tailgate details are in the works. At the latest, the tailgate will be up and running by 5:30-6:00.

Also, any interest in having a get together that Tuesday night somewhere? Esp. for the out of town folks?
