TeBe played with a lot of heart and probable deserved to win. St. Pauli were clearly faster, stronger, and more skilled, but seemed completely unmotivated. Yang was the only bright spot that I could see. If this is how they perform against a 4th Division side, they may be seeing more of it in the next few years.

All 10 Bundesliga clubs who played so far are still in the competition - quite uncommon in the last years, but also expressing the growing importance of every income source. 4 surprises so far with three D3 and one D4 team defeating 2. Bundesliga clubs.

Sunday afternoon results:

Kiel vs Hertha 1:1, 3:0 PK
1:0 Rose (44), 1:1 Preetz (47)
Surprise with a better taste: before scoring the goal Rose knocked Rehmer down with an elbow-check; Rehmer had to be substituted bleeding all over the face.

Saarbrücken II vs Bielefeld 0-5
0:1 Bogandovic (22), 0:2 Wichniarek (43), 0:3 Hansen (57), 0:4 Reinhardt (63), 0:5 Diabang (79),
Du-Ri Cha had his first game for Bielefeld are getting the permit of the University of Korea yesterday.

Aachen Ama vs 1860 Munich 0-7
0:1 Max (25), 0:2 Borimirov (53), 0:3 Max (61), 0:4 Lauth (67), 0:5 Max (68), 0:6 Max (80), 0:7 Weissenberger (89)

Erfurt vs Frankfurt 2-3 OT
0:1 Guie-Mien (18), 1:1 Dzihic (51), 1:2 Jones (67), 2:2 Okic (82), 2:3 Skela (118)

Paloma Hamburg vs Kaiserslautern 0-5
0:1 Lokvenc (19), 0:2 Lokvenc (36), 0:3 Klose (54), 0:4 Basler (62), 0:5 Klose (85)
What a surprise - last week Basler was so bad that he had to be substituted in the first half (kicker rating 6) and now after Brehme is fired he can play, scored one and assisted three. Sure, only against a D5 team, but if considering that he's friend and brother in law of player agent Roger Wittmann - owner of the dubious agent firm ROGON, which is extremely influential in KL - some doubts regarding his attitude last week might be allowed.

Babelsberg vs Mönchengladbach 0-1
0:1 Hausweiler (34)

Salmrohr vs Wolfsburg 0-2
0:1 Klimowicz (59), 0:2 Karhan (81)

Mainz Ama vs Rostock 0-2
0:1 Kientz (26), 0:2 Salou (64)
The proof: Rostock doesn't care about the opponent - they are simply winning all games 2-0 (I only hope that Leverkusen ends this streak in 10 days)

Last game starting in a quarter hour:
Essen vs Leverkusen

Qualified for the 2nd round are:
16 Bundesliga teams (+Leverkusen?)
10 2.Bundesliga teams
4 Regionalliga teams (+Essen?)
1 Oberliga team

Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 all advanced to the second round of the 60th edition of the German cup but neither of the Bundesliga heavyweights can claimed to have done so with much style.
