Well, now that the Rapids have held up their end and unveiled a new site, I thought it might be nice to start a more positive thread with some constructive feedback, in case anybody at spiremedia happens to look here. What would you like to see on the new and improved site?
My top two:
-Player pics & bios
-more auction items

FYI, those pics are all squashed a bit oddly... not to mention, they take a LONG time to download.
That's what happens when you squeeze a 1600x1200 image into a 280x280 square.
I'd suggest people look at them with the following direct links:

While poking around the site, I did find a rash of new (well, it wasn't there before) content that is worth a look.
Under the "feature articles" link (within What's New) there's a whole bunch of new goodies, most particularly interviews/articles with Pablo, Kotschau, and Titus.

Woohoo! There are player pics and bios up now when you click on the players' names on the roster.

The thing I always felt was great was the Rapids History section that showed trades, drafts, waivers, allocations, and so on beginning from day 1 through current. You could remember how Steve Rammel came to the team and when we dumped Vermes (etc.). It'd be great to have this again w/links to player bios as well.
I'd also like a "Flash"y optional entry point (lots of glitz for turning on new fans w/semi-action run-of-play stuff mixed w/fan shots and so on).
A virtual tour of the Westminster Training Facility would be cool. Add in link to VR Tour for Bronco's Invesco tour or make a Rapids specific alternative.
I'd rather have the main home page split into 4 sections:Rapids Info section (almost everything on current home page sub-sectioned out)
Rapids at the Pitch section (have sections showing all the events for past/future game-day operations, how to get the most out of game day, how to get there (light rail, parking, freeway routes, street access, etc), pre-game details/quotes, post-game parties (how to get there after the game, parking, specials, etc), open tailgate info)
Rapids on the Road section (what is the routine players/coaches follow, away venue info for road-trippers, TV Viewing parties locally (detail specials, how to get there/park), pre-game quotes/info
Rapids vs the World (detail each trophy run (Open Cup, Supporters Shield, playoff league run, CONCACAF tourny, etc) where people can find out how the Rapids match up versus other teams and short blurbs on how other teams are doing in the same conquest)Probably too much work for what the Rapids can pay for...

While I'm dreaming, a link that shows a "Flash"y speil of "The honor and tradition of Colorado's green football team" showing player scripted interviews discussing plays/events that epitomize the determined spirit/play and the proud color that uniquely defines the team in a MLS sea of blue, black, and red anonymous nobodies (using a Chariots of Fire or Executioners/J5 music background theme).
*sigh* (guess management is pissing this opportunity away)

And realistically, not worth all the time and effort to develop those things that will only be viewed once (if at all).
I think I speak for most fans when I say my biggest wish is that they simply have fresh, updated content and reliable information. Things like today's "road report" are a great start:
