Thank God I can shut FSC off.
That some Chicago **** out of your mouth and come up for air....
Oh well.
Disappointing result, of course. They definitely need to get some stability in the back to close out games and that will probably take a couple games to get Padula back from suspension and Frankie back from injury.

It's funny, last year I would have taken that result from Chicago, but seeing as we were up 2 for over 80 minutes, I'm a tad peeved.

They've been playing well and have had some bad calls and bad luck.
They have looked the better team for large stretches of games.
The sky is not falling.
I'm not one to panic, but at this point, we're 1/5th of the way through the season without a win. We're six points back of first. With every game the pressure grows.

Yeah, I'd be pissed too but I think we played well even when down a man. We need a little more experience in the back alongside Marshall and O'Rourke. Chad cannot cover everybody.
If Padula were to be cautioned instead of ejected then that is a different game.

Well, what can you say? Still dealing with injuries, we play a great game, and still don't walk away with a win. This has been one of the craziest strings of bad luck I've seen in a long time in MLS.
The attendance and crowd looked great, 16,628 is a terrific number. However, this beer-throwing shit in the Nordecke really needs to stop, it makes us all look bad.
The referee was bad enough to deserve a suspension. He got assorted inconsequential things wrong, gave too many yellows to Chicago, didn't award a penalty kick for Marshall being tackled in the box in the first half, didn't even call a foul for Brunner's nasty tackle just outside the box. And then of course, there was the idiotic ejection of Padula. I didn't see wear the spikes on the cleat went, but from what could see that didn't even merit a yellow. They commited almost a carbon copy of that foul against Schelotto in the 83rd minute, and he didn't give a call. Completely ridiculous, it cost us the game, and will give us lineup problems against Toronto next week. Disgusting.
Individually, everyone played pretty well, props to Andy G for really stepping up. Ekpo's finishing is really god-awful, but he looked dangerous tonight. Rogers looked much slower than usual. And Marshall played with fire, what a game from him. Brunner, Zayner and O'Rourke looked shaky at times, but part of that was being a man down. Bottom line, even a man down, up 2-0 at home you need to get the result. We need to get better at closing out games.

Absolute bullshit.
This team needs to get its collective head out of its ass. It's a 90 minute game. Period. This "we played well but for a few scattered plays" or " the goals were scored against the run of play" rationalization is ringing pretty hollow at this point.
Last place for the defending league champion. Totally unacceptable.

The refereeing was absolutely the worst I have ever seen. It was so inconsistent. Brunner should have had a yellow at least, Padula didn't even deserve one, thank you so much for assuring us more depth problems in the coming weeks. Maybe Garber knew exactly what he was talking about when he called us the Columbus Screw

This.
The July 5 game we played ugly, let them get up 2 on us. The draw felt good, especially because we were pressing hard at the end.
This is totally deflating.
Not ready to hit the panic button yet. I'm dialing back my expectations of the SS; but I do think we've still got the talent to at least get into the playoffs, if not make noise in the USOC/CCL -- but only if we start getting our stuff together and finishing games!

3 home games 3 leads blown 3 pts. =hotseat for Bob. Sorry but. 6 games in and we can't protect 2-0 with 85 gone. Why didn't Noonan come on for moffat? Drunk posting isn't a good idea but we are defending champs here.

A real benchmark game early in the season and it's odd how a 2:2 draw against a offensively powerful Chicago squad that has yet to lose a game feels so deflating. But it does and rightly so.
Padula getting the red card when he did was the obvious game-changer. Too much time to try and hold a Fire team with weapons and we didn't. It's just starting to seem like we're a bit snake-bit so far as we just can't seem to get a win even when we've played well. It'd also be nice to have our full starting 11 out there for a game as we have a fairly significant drop in quality when we go to the bench.
A 2:2 draw on paper isn't a bad result. How it came about tells a different story.....

I just came back from the stadium. Very dissapointed, although I think we played very well. Just lack of focus at the end.
I love Marshall. In a non-gay kind of way. He is great.

I agree completely.

All ire in this game should be directed directly at the official - who should be facing suspension for that turd he laid tonight - and Blanco - who should also be facing suspension. That red card was complete bullshit, and ended up destroying the game. I don't know how you can pin this on Bob.
I'm of half a mind to send Garber a bill to reimburse me the money I spent tonight to attend the game.
And I completely agree that the throwing of stuff HAS TO STOP. I had - be prepared to throw up a bit in your mouth - SOMEBODYS ********ING SPIT CUP THROWN ON ME. I want to know that if we point out people to CSC for throwing stuff, if they'll actually do something about it. They looked completely uninterested in finding the people throwing things.

For the first time all season, I'll question his subs, particularly holding onto the 3rd for so long. I'd have put Dunc in for Ekpo instead of Rogers, also.
I'm not going to blame Warzycha, but a lot of coaches have found themselves on the hot seat for nothing more than bad luck. That said, we aren't going to fire Robert unless we're winless at the All-Star break, and even then we'd have Lapper finish out the year, so why even think it? He's the coach, he needs to get this figured out.
I might start by looking at conditioning...

I'll skip past the delicious spit cup part to agree - yes, stop throwing stuff. And yes, the officiating was awful - and the bad kind of awful...like, I don't have any idea what's a foul, not a foul, a card and a red card. Or, typical MLS reffing.

I disagree. After the Toronto FC and Rapids games, this comment would've made sense. But today we did our best to close out the game, and played well in the second half up to the red card. After the red card, I really think we did a good job of defending, and even got some good chances. Remember, with Padula out not only were we a man down, we were missing two of our starting defenders AND our starting goalie. I don't think the outrage is really totally called for in this incident. We basically got boned by the ref.

I've gotten to the point that the completely sh*tty officiating doesn't even bother me, as long as it is sh*tty BOTH ways.
Blanco goes down like a $2 whore on pay-day and Padula gets a (straight) red. Moreno and GBS are both hacked in the exact same way at the middle of the pitch and not only were there NO cards issued, there are NO F*CKING FOULS CALLED AT ALL!
Marshall got thrown down in the box... I could see it plainly from the other end of the field in 123... No call.
In previous games we've had Marshall go out with an elbow to the face and had both Danny O and Brunner come out with bloody mouthes... None of which resulted in a call or a card.
When is this sh*t going to f*cking stop?! Who has to get killed before the officials get it? Even my 13-year-old daughter couldn't shut-up on the way home about how sh*tty the ref was tonight.
We played fine. Things (calls) didn't go our way (go figure) and put us in a tough position to finish out the game. At least for once this season our play was solid all around the field.

Somebody must have sold their soul for that title last year, 'cause we're sure paying for it now. There's no other way to explain how snakebit this team is.

The best way to stop the throwing of cups and beer and stuff is to not allow it in the Nordecke. Problem solved.
and a shitty game. i'm out of excused to give to people about our results.
