Not good, not good.
Wolves go out and get absolutly throttled by Aston Villa 4-0 at Molineux. Juan Pablo Angel hit 2, and Mellberg and Hitzlsberger had the other Villa goals.
So, 28 matches down, 10 matches left. 19th place, tied with Portsmouth, 24 points. 2 points in front of Leeds, 2 points behind Leicester for safety. Portsmouth have a game in hand, that will be against Liverpool on the 17th. Figure, looking at the standings, 6 teams are fighting for 3 spots (Blackburn, Man City, Leicester, Portsmouth, Wolves, and Leeds), all separated by 6 points. Here's the run-in for Wolves:
3/20- at Liverpool (1-1 draw at Molineux)
3/27- at Chelsea (5-0 loss at Molineux)
4/3- vs. Southampton (2-0 loss in Southampton)
4/10- at Man. City (1-0 win at Molineux)
4/12- vs. Bolton (1-1 draw at Bolton)
4/17- vs. Middlesborough (2-0 loss at Middlesborough)
4/24- at Birmingham (1-1 draw at Molineux)
5/1- vs. Everton (2-0 loss at Everton)
5/8- at Newcastle (1-1 draw at Molineux)
5/15- vs. Tottenham (5-2 loss at Tottenham)
So, if we were to at least equal the results we got in the first meetings, that would be 7 points out of 30, and a season total of 31. Probably not good enough. All these matches may not be "must-win" (though the Man City match probably is), they all have to be considered "must-point". It'll be an exciting finish, that's for sure.
