A few things come to mind:

First, that since there has been so much BAD press - some people going so far as to call the deal dead - Wolenstein & Co., are now rolling out a new campaign to jump start interest. "Not one but TWO possible locations!! Everything is going as planned!"

And if that's the case - that it's all talk - at least they're trying on all levels. When I see this article picked up by the PlainDealer or USAToday or something, then I'll be more interested.

And if it's 100% true? Then great for Cleveland!

So does this mean Rochester will be 2005 or all expansion will be put off until 2006?

To me the article implies that Rochester would come onboard in 2005.

Also, for me the source of the article implies that it doesn't mean much until the investors cut checks and the MLS puts out their press releases. It's the usual rumor jabbering passed off as journalism that is the nature of reporting on sports. :)

And lastly, I think speculation has been around for the last month or two that it would be SD/Rochester for 2005, but that is still subject to change ;)

From What I have been able to find out, Cleveland will not see MLS until 2009-10 time frame. That is what I was told by a source inside the Wolstein Group.

So we might be waiting a while. I asked what the hold up was, but did not get an answer.

Im wondering if it has to be a money issue. Remember they were looking to get a tax passed in Summit County to help finance some of the project, But I believe that was blocked in Columbus.

We will have to wait and see what is going to happen.
