Sacramento and Indiana look strong, can never count out LA and San Antonio, Minnesota looks like they might make a run, Detroit has bulked up a bit...I think this year's playoffs are going to be exciting.
So who will win?
I hope Sacramento wins, but I don't want to jinx them so I'll say Indiana. But I do think Indiana has a really good chance, especially since they'll have the #1 seed wrapped up soon, and the Western conference playoffs might zap a lot of energy out of the survivor come finals time.

Starbury and Isiah Thomas are going to win the NBA Championship. :D
On a serious note, if the Knicks don't make it (Last time NY got an 8th seed, you know what happened), I really want to see the Kings win it.

I like Minnesota. I think the Lakers have too much going on, the Spurs need Duncan healthy and David Robinson, the Kings are struggling, and the East can't win it. I think Minnesota has the experience and KG definately has the motivation to win it this year.

well it's about time somebody posts in this thread!
I actually think the East has a really good chance to win it all this year because their playoffs won't be as draining as the west, the west just keeps getting stronger every year. Like I said, I have a sinking feeling Indiana will be hoisting the trophy this year, they are only a couple of games from securing the #1 seed in the east, while everyone in the west will be dogging it out until the last game of the season (not to mention the west playoffs), Indiana will probably have home field advantage if they make the finals and be well rested.
Go Sacramento!

I thought I'd bump this thread given some of the results from today's games.
*Spurs go into Staples Center and end the Lakers' winning streak
*Pistons bitchslap Pacers, holding them to 61
*Kings, Wolves win against fellow West playoff contenders (Houston, Memphis)
Right now we've got the Lakers, Kings, and Wolves within a 1/2 game of each other for number #1 in the west, with the Spurs breathing down their necks 2 games back. This has got to be the competitive race for the #1 seed I can remember with 4 teams all within spitting distance. I think these playoffs are going to be some of the best the NBA has ever seen.
In the next week both LA and Minnesota have to go to Arco Arena and battle the Kings. As a Kings fans, I am really nervous about these two games. The Kings need a confidence boost badly.
After seeing the Pistons smack the Pacers, I'm not convinced Indiana will breeze to the finals. I think Detroit will take the east now. The west will come down to Lakers, Spurs, Kings, Wolves.

I don't believe a team from eastern conference will win the championship.
As a Twovles fans since their very beginning, I don't believe they will make it through the first round. Houston will beat them in first round. That's their tradition. Kevin Garnett will find a way to choke at the critical moment like he always does.
Kings didn't go deep into playoff because their defense is not very good. I don't think this year will be any different.
I think Spurs or Lakers will win the championship, and maybe Memphis has a small chance.

I'm giving this thread a bump after a small taste of the playoffs.
Revised predictions anyone?
I think Spurs and Pacers/Pistons, with the Spurs taking it.

I voted for the Wolves and I'm sticking with the wolves.
