Er... what am I supposed to be looking at in that?

You are watching American throw ball. It is like Rugby in drag. The man in the crash helmet was trying to get in the special end zone by crossing the line.

Yeah, that first one was a dive, but wow how does a professional lose it like that. I don't know what the FA is like in Spain but he should get more than 3 games for that.

What a disgrace.

Cheers Cris... can't wait until the next time a La Liga fanboy goes labelling the Premiership and especially Terry/Vidic-type CBs as hacks or whathaveyou. :D

They're are some nutcases playing in Spain. Javi Navarro and Pablo Alfaro (Dr. Death) were quite dangerous as a CB pairing for a few years. There's a video below of Navarro's most infamous incident. Before he left for Italy there was also Christian Poulsen, who has quite a record for being rough during his career. There's a vid of what he did to Jenas a while ago, and he meant it. And of course, this was also going on in the 80s, when Andoni Goikoetxea, aka the Butcher of Bilabo severely injured Maradona and Schuster.

Real coach Juande Ramos attempts to rationalise his player's actions.

"Pepe lost his cool but he did not mean to attack Casquero," Ramos explained. "He was more upset with himself and he only wanted to kick at the air in anger but at no moment did he intend to hurt his opponent."

Are you freakin' kidding me? Does he not know that we have seen the footage over and over again? Has he not seen it? Trying to kick the air? Really? The air????

No one wonder shit is so corrupt there. Their own officials don't think he did much wrong.

"I am sure that he is very sorry and in these situations, we should forgive him for losing his temper because a lot was at stake."

What???????????? Forgive him? A lot was at stake and therefore he lost it? Holy crap....I am impressed and dissapointed to see Ramos be such a ********** about this.

Yeah, and then later he was trying to punch at the air, but accidentally hit his face too right?

sigh....

Ìt's La Liga... they do tend to have a bit of a 'see no evil, hear no evil' attitude to this stuff in their own league, yet love to point the 'blame' of dirty play towards us and to an extent, the Germans.

What really gets under my skin about this though, is that Pepe is not a tough player like a Vidic or Terry. He is known to shy away from honest, tough physical play within the laws of the game... exactly like Ferdinand used to do a lot ,and stil ldoes the odd time. I don't mind players like this at all - they add another dimension to the backline, can be really put a defense over the top and tend to have other intangibles such as organisation, pace and distribution. But seeing dirty play like Pepe did last night from that type of player strikes me less as a rush of blood to the head, and more along the lines of pathetic cowardice. Am I alone here?

I would have had much more respect if he simply said, "Pepe lost his cool but he did not mean to attack Casquero... I am sure that he is very sorry and in these situations, we should forgive him for losing his temper because a lot was at stake."

He should have left it at that. But to say he was trying to kick the air? Out of frustration? Oh, oh...and the player was just in his way...

I mean, how stupid does he think we all are?

This is a Real Madrid player. Expect a Mickey Mouse sanction.

Keane taking the reigns at Ispwich, quite interesting indeed.

terrible to see them go down. Further evidence of how bad Rupert Lowe is.

pretty legitimate list imo.

pretty legitimate list imo.
One amendment: Jo for City is #1, easily, by far, no questions asked, the worst signing all season. He has done decent for Everton, but that doesn't stop the fact that City paid £18-19mn for three goals (2 UEFA Cup, 1 in the league).

Berbatov being #1 and Robbie Keane being #10 does show a very obvious slant in the writer's personal leanings, imo. No way is there 9 places in the difference due to £10mn. Berbaytov has been disappointing for me definitely, but a lot would argue that Keane was a far, far worse signing especially as Liverpool just cut their losses and sold him back for several million less only a few months later.

Coloccini deserves a top 3-4 spot.

Not sure I see Berba being the worst signing of the season. Sure he has done much less than expected and was expensive, but he is one of the starters of a team that could very well win every trophy besides the FA cup.

agreed with the comments regarding the Worst Signings list

as I said I think its a legitimate list, but I also would have a few issues with the rankings
