How does Promotion/Relegation work between all the different divisions in English football, from EPL all the way down to the lowest division?

Top three go up. Bottom three go down.

Except between Divisions 2 & 3, where four go down to D3 and four get promoted to D2

All the way down to the lowest division in England is impossible, so here are the top couple:

Premier League (20 teams) (level 1):
1st - Champions
18th-20th - relegated to Division 1

(Nationwide) Football League Division 1 (24 teams) (level 2):
1st-2nd: promoted to Premier League
3rd-6th: enter playoff, winner of which is also promoted
22nd-24th: relegated to Division 2

(Nationwide) Football League Division 2 (24 teams) (level 3):
1st-2nd: promoted to Division 1
3rd-6th: enter playoff, winner of which is also promoted
21st-24th: relegated to Division 3

(Nationwide) Football League Division 3 (24 teams) (level 4):
1st-3rd: promoted to Division 2
4th-7th: enter playoff, winner of which is also promoted
23rd-24th: relegated to Conference

(Nationwide) Football Conference (22 teams) (level 5):
1st: promoted to Division 3
2nd-5th: enter playoff, winner of which is also promoted

There is also relegation from the Conference to lower leagues, and so on.

Below the Conference with no definitive answer as yet to the new changes to the pyramid structure it is a little hard to say who gets promoted/relegated anyway at the moment.

Conference relegation should be the bottom three, but unless Barrow can make the top two in the Unibond it'll only be two down.

There's been a rumour going around that Division 1 is going to get a name change.

Yes, to "The First Division Championship".

They must have been up all night for that brainstorm.

Is this a joke? Do the fans of the team that comes in 1st have any real bragging rights over the team that comes in 2nd, and is also auto-promoted? Because if they don't, then this is pathetic.

Well of course they do. The reason the suggested name change is silly is because it already is the First Division championship. Current First Division champions are Portsmouth. They have a trophy and everything.

And Wigan are Division Two Champions.

Whilst Rushden & Diamonds are the current Division Three champions.

Matt, my point is, do the fans of Portsmouth feel better than the fans of Leicester City? See, maybe this is the American in me, but if my Div. 2 team gets autopromoted, I don't care if they came in first or second. It's like college basketball here...the whole point is the NCAA tournament. If you get in with a 22-6 record or a 16-10 record, you don't care. You got into the tournament.

Wrongly too ;)

The Conference Sponsorship is different to that of the League, just at present they happen to be the same company. Nationwide should still be around next season.

It depends. If you win it, then it becomes very important. If you are battling to get up and not really in with a shot of the title, then going up is all that matters. If two teams are already up, or looking like certainties for going up, then they really will be geared up for trying to win the title. Everyone wants that nice shiny trophy to show off from the top of that open-top bus during the civic reception. The following season it matters very little unless the two or maybe three teams battling it out for the title meet up very early.
