    Thanks for this.

With regard to Demit, the key line:

Sporting Lisbon will decide at the end of the year whether to offer Omphroy a bona fide contract, while the player and his family will consider the options they have, including other professional clubs, Major League Soccer or taking the traditional American university route.

By "year" I assume you mean 06/07 season?

    Should say "season." Thanks.

Dave, I'm sure you're on top of this. Have a name for us yet? ;)

Can't be sure but I'm guessing he's talking about SC Concordia Hamburg's Justin Woodward.

Thanks - I just got my first ever 'spread rep' message. So I'll ask this question publicly:

You just make up half these YA names, don't you? ;)

Don't Germany and Portugal sound different! Zimmerman's squad is placing three striker types in a 4-3-3 and emphasizing strength and winning the second ball, while Demit is doing the same type of practices as my U14 boy, that is 3v2, 2v1, taking on defenders, not so much with fitness, set pieces, and the like.

Very interesting contrast in styles coming through from those two locations.

I think both will stay. Zimmerman should start moving up the ranks and join Feilhaber in the first team within a year.

Omphroy is probably the best guy on the U-19 team from what i hear. It seems he will probably move into their first team as well.

If Preston thought Dolly was direct - and Thomas was not - wait till he gets a hold of Iron Felix.

Preston Zimmerman, having turned 18 in November, 06, just had his first match with HSV II, playing alongside Benny Feilhaber.

Demit's been playing with the US U-18 side. He played in the series down in Mexico this month.

wow! this can't be true. nobody in europe does that unimaginative stuff! we here at bs make it our duty to beat up on u.s coaches who play the long ball and emphasize strength.
