A quick update on Zerboni's head clash with Bompastor: http://www.peachstatesoccer.com/2010/05/beats-zerboni-out-with-concussion.html
Best of luck to Zerboni! She will be missed from a squad that already has its share of injuries and really needs her energy and work rate. That said, I hope she takes the time she needs to fully recover, as players who rush returns from head trauma often find their playing careers cut short and pay even steeper health prices down the road. Patience is prudence. Best of luck!
i saw the update from mccall's twitter monday and winced. i've had a couple of concussions; one was very mild and i was out for nearly a month. i hope she heals quicker than i do because she's definitely a major attribute for the beat, and very needed!
I am sorry to hear that. I am hoping for a quick and complete recovery. I saw her play for the first time last week and I thought, "What a breath of fresh air for women's soccer". Now, if Atlanta could just touch those balls rolling in front of the opponents net they would be all set.
Of course, this doesn't shed much light on the severity of the concussion, but McCall posted a picture on facebook and twitter. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=3940244&id=274420076504 Looks like the one eye is swollen partially shut. On the bright side, she seems to be pretty positive and she at least feels well enough to communicate with her fans and that's always a good thing. Hopefully, the concussion won't cause her any lasting problems and she's able to get healthy.
It's good to hear she feels well enough to think of returning to the practice field. Not that she necessarily should come back so fast - let's hope the doctors assess her condition properly.
I think someone already posted this, but in case you missed it, here's a pic from McCall's Facebook showing the external effect of her head clash. http://bit.ly/cTDQTm
