Kahn Sagnol---------Linke-----------Lucio---------- Lahm Robben--------Ballack--------Schweinsteiger-------Jeremies Müller --------- Jancker I'm only 25, so my memory of Bayern doesn't go back that far. Up until the last couple of years I could really only catch a random game here or there. The first game I remember watching was the 2001 UCL final. I always loved watching Germany, and for some reason I really liked Jancker, so I started following Bayern because of that. Pre 2008-2009 season, I really just knew the guys from playing with them on FIFA. Ballack is my all-time favorite player.
and that's for another thread. for me Salihamidzic has done so much for the club and has become a true cult hero and icon, far more than Robben - hence why I would choose him before Robben as a favorite.
agree, Brazzo would do anything for Bayern... as a Bayern fan, i hold Brazzo in a higher regard than Robben. skill wise Robben is the better attacker by a good margin. but Brazzo was a footballer, not a specialist... i love how he could be plugged into any position, not bitch about it, and would give it his very best regardless of who he was against. can't find many of those types these days
Demichelis is a regular at Bayern since the start of 2005. Neither Kuffour nor Andersson were regulars for so long. Demichelis has declined in the last two years, but Kuffour basically was like Demichelis is now for most of his Bayern career. Plus Kuffour never had as good a season as Demichelis had in 2007-08. Andersson only was a factor for Bayern for the second half of the 2000-2001 season. That's just not sufficient for a place in an all-time XI. Robben is the same as Andersson. If he stays at Bayern for the next 5 years and performs as well as he is capable of without too many injuries, he would be placed ahead of Salihamidzic. But as of now, he just is not around long enough to warrant a starting place in a Bayern foreign all-time XI. At this point, Salihamidzic deserves to be ahead of Robben.
Many tend to forget this on these boards. I have been trying to let them "hear the music" with regards to this... it falls on deaf ears. Spot fockin on! Robben is bound to be in the team, but not until he last more than X amount of seasons.
Second that. I was starting to wonder and doubt myself if I mis-remembered what a player Kuffour was. Don't get me wrong, he was good and played with passion but he was no world-beater either imo. Looking back players get remembered in a more favorable light in general because you remember the good but forget the bad. That's just how it is.
This is an "All-Prussian" Bayern XI (meaning no Southern Germans, i.e. Swabians, Franconians, Bavarians, Palatinatians, South Hessians, Badenians): -------------11-Karl-Heinz RUMMENIGGE-----9-Roland WOHLFARTH ----------------------(Westphalia)--------------(Westphalia) -------------------------------10-Stefan EFFENBERG --------------------------------------(Hamburg) -----6-Christian ZIEGE-----------------------------------7-Andreas BREHME ------------(Berlin)--------------------------------------------(Hamburg) -------------------------------8-Michael BALLACK ------------------------------------(Saxony) --3-Norbert NACHTWEIH-----------------------------2-Wolfgang DREMMLER ----(Saxony-Anhalt)------------------------------------(Lower-Saxony) ----------------4-Thomas HELMER--------5-Olaf THON -------------------(Westphalia)-----------(Westphalia) ---------------------------1-Walter JUNGHANS --------------------------------(Hamburg) Benchmen: Thorsten Fink, Michael Rummenigge, Hans Nowak, Hans Weiner, Thomas Strunz (all Westphalia), Josef Kapellmann, Kalle Del'Haye, Michael Tarnat (all Rhineland), Rainer Zobel, Udo Horsmann (both Lower-Saxony), Jens Jeremies (Saxony), Carsten Jancker (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), Werner Olk (East Prussia).
^^^ Great list @ Gregoriak. Could you do an all time Bayern bald XI, considering only those players who have been bald during their Bayern days? I reckon this side too to be quite strong.
Unleash the Kraken!!! https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153729&highlight=Bayern+Hair This is before your time PoorVI. Enjoy.

Damn, so this is what ressurect from the grave feels like ... Thread was already 3 years old ... Anyway, mine would be: Rensing - Oddo, Breno, Ismael, Lell - Ottl, Borowski, Sosa, Julio dos Santos, Karimi - Hashemian Coach: Jürgen Klinsmann
Sweet line up right there. If I may suggest something though, replace Sosa (who was the one who crossed to Toni for that memorable header against Getafe) with this guy:
Damn !! How could I forget Landycakes ???? PS: Props for remembering the only good Sosa moment in his career at Bayern...
Seriously, I don't really care about that. That picture is so disgusting and gay, hahahahahaha - I can't stop laughing. Not like I had respect for him before, but now there's totally no respect for him. Hell, man!
