I actually admire Ballack's CFC time, he sacrificed his major plus for the sake of Chelsea midfield. Lampard Ballack pairing is probably as best pairing as you get against Xavi-Iniesta. Agree on fernb8's point, shame that we got Ballack so late. A 22-23yr old Lampard & a 24-ish Ballack would have ruled the world. Give me Ballack any day over Gerrard, was on a big cheque but that's justified. Had he stayed who knows we might have saved the 28mn in compo.
agreed taking nothing away from Lamps or some our other very talented players but Ballack was one of the most gifted technical players to wear the shirt as you said- I would have loved to sign him as a 24-25 year old to pair with Lamps
Lol...some of those fools that also happen to support Germany still believe he has a place on the NT, ffs! Shame he couldn't retire in a more graceful manner, though he is partially to blame for this as well. Move to MLS? Sure, why not.
I found an interesting read about Borini's last 12 months from being a Reserve player now w/ a chance to represent the Azzuri in the upcoming Euros. Enjoy!!!.

They are now official CFC ambassadors in there, promoting CFC brand. Chelsea will have soccer schools in there, in collaboration with the two brothers academy(as per Juni's link a while ago)
Petit a freakin' Busta. If its too good to be true, then there is something up. I guess I only liked him cause of his blonde ponytail <_<

Congratulations to former player Paul Elliott on his CBE (Commander of the British Empire). For those who don't know Paul, he came into the Chelsea team in the early 90s and was quickly established as a classy centre back with England aspirations (for a team that did not provide England internationals other than the odd Dennis Wise cap). His career was ended tragically early in a nasty collision with Dean Saunders at Anfield (he was as much to blame for the challenge, but watching the game, you knew it was bad). He didn't let that destroy him though and unlike others who may have crumbled he went on to become a significant force in the anti-racism campaigns (following especially nasty racism when playing for Celtic) and this award is as well earned as any in the often frivolous world of sports. Well done Paul!
There is a bizarre rumour going around that Drogba will sign for Barcelona. Apparently there is a clause in his contract with the Shanghai club that allows him to do so. No idea why he would even sign for the Chinese club in the first place if he wanted to join Barca.
