Apparently it happened in Facebook too, not Twitter. The whole story is told today in this online Spanish newspaper http://www.elconfidencial.com/cache/2009/08/11/comunicacion_66_facebook_perder_trabajo_pareja.html I for one think that Twitter and Facebook are the most supid inventions ever and can only bring problems of every kind, sometimes very serious. I still wonder who wants for instance to meet old friends, mostly from school times. What's the point? If you lost contact is because you didn't have any interest in each other. I've heard some women say it's cool because they lost contact unwillingly... which makes me think what stopped them to call or write each other first of all, as if they were abduced by aliens or kidnapped by the Colombian guerrilla for years in the jungle or maybe fell into a 20 years coma or something... To me they are just open doors to talk too much, show too much, enemies or exes taking revenges, employers or prospect employers, partners or prospect partners to know too much of you. In any case, nothing good. If the good side is that they can flirt and meet possible partners or dates from home... I've seen better methods which dont necessarily risk your whole reputation, sanity, job or life. But I must be very weird because everyone has a stupid Facebook page, 300 million people or something like that. And everyone seems to enjoy sending stupid messages to Twitter to say that they are bored or waiting for the bus.
I agree, and if it makes you feel any better I don't have either one of a Facebook Twitter or Myspace. Although all of my friends have one of the above and they mostly use it just to hook up with chicks or to stay in touch with friends in other schools. I can kind of get it for college kids that have facebook or myspace but twitter is the most retarted invention of all time. Who's life is really that interesting? Anyway I don't really get the married/older people that have Facebook or MySpace accounts, that's the ones I don't get and it's mostly for the reasons that you listed.
