That is absolutely not true, Boquete made less than half compared to Marta at Tyresö. Anyway, Swedish immigration denied Fabiana a work permit, so there's a 99.9% chance she'll have to find a new club as well.
Someone posted salaries. It looked like Boq was right up their with Marta monthly to me. Faby is going back to Sao Jose.
The newspaper posted 2 months salaries instead of one for Boquete (according to her anyway), that's why there's such confusion.
http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2014/04/24/tyreso-administration-banruptcy-uefa-champions-league/ From this, it sounds like Tyreso might not make it to the final, or even the return leg of the semi - and even if they do, the players won't see much of the reward. I highly doubt the club will be shut down if they're still alive in the CL, but I wouldn't be surprised if, no matter what the CL results are, the club closes shop soon after. (Though it's good to note to take Farley's interpretation with a grain of salt, as the article he links mentions nothing of the club shutting down.)
I'm all about Marta and the Mermaids, but who in the hell cut an 1.4$M bonus in her contract? Is that an error? Women at this time just don't bring in the revenues for something that ridiculous. Even the overpaid ego manics of FC USWNT don't get that kind of cash from their rich federation.
If anyone in the Swedish revenue service shut the team down when they had a chance to recoup their tax liabilities, you would think they would be immediately and summarily fired.
Can anyone confirm this... Tyresö FF 3:0 Birmingham City LFC 61. Minute, Goal to Score 1:0 by Goal Scorer C. Press 72. Minute, Goal to Score 2:0 by Goal Scorer C. Press 93. Minute, Goal to Score 3:0 by Goal Scorer M. Vieira da Silva
Yes, that's correct. Both goals by Press were assisted by Malin Diaz. One a through ball and around the keeper, another was a tap-in after the keeper and her defender tangled. Marta also scored on a through ball and was assisted by Press.
Terrible article. There is a real possibility that the players won't get the bonuses they were supposed to have if the company associated with the club goes bankrupt (the club itself won't go bankrupt or cease to exist, the club and company are two separate things), but that cannot happen before the Champions League final. The club was granted three months for a restruction, and whether that will continue for a longer period or not will be decided in June. The CL final is obviously on May 22, so that is not in jeopardy whether they go bankrupt or not. Anyway, Tyresö are in the final and will - win or lose - get a large sum of money from UEFA for accomplishing that. Depending on how many other players have bonuses in their contracts, the leftover money should hopefully cover a chunk of the money they owe. Far from all of it, but some is better than nothing.
