Dalglish is a joke. I remember people here lauding the Liverpool signings. LMAO what a waste of money. May they remain sh*t forever. Comoli is a convenient scapegoat

Sadly, the won't. They'll get someone who actually knows how to evaluate talent, and actually start making some intelligent buys. As much as I hate Alan Pardew, Newcastle have made some very intelligent signings. They've spent the Carroll money very, very well: Ba, Cisse, and Phil Dowd. Those might be the three best signings made in the past 18 months.

On the other hand, Liverpool's scouting/signing looks positively lazy - Charlie Adam, Andy Carroll, Stuart Downing, Jordan Henderson? Wow. These guys make Rafa's talent assessment look positively spectacular by comparison, and we made fun of Rafa here for his signings. They can't possibly get any worse than the signings they've made post Rafa, can they? At some point, they'll fire Dalglish, put together a decent scouting network with a core way of playing in mind (like Man United and us, and like Spuds of late), and start making some not awful buys. At that point, with they money they have, they'll be top four challengers again. And that's really just going off of what FSG did with the Sox (though with the way these guys handle the media, who would ever want to work for them?).

No denying the cleverness of the fans (the creativity is the best part of the stands) but I really hate that they picked on that one guy. If he flicked them the V or something then I'd understand more, but I'm uncomfortable with the thought of 12,000 people bullying a single guy who just came out to support his club.

Just curious (as I do not have enough viewing time to make the assessment) but Subotic and Gotze over the Ajax CB and MF pairing to which we have been linked?

Haven't seen enough of Vertonghen or Eriksen to comment. Subotic certainly looks the business, and we've been linked with him for a while. Gotze, haven't seen enough to really comment with firsthand knowledge, but he was Bundesliga player of the year last year at 19, for what it's worth.

hummels is better than subotic but both are nice, probably better than vertonghen

gotze is miles better than eriksen currently but more injury prone and more expensive

Encourage him to wear his Arsenal gear to the game. The average US sports radio jock is a ********in moron.

He wouldn't even be allowed to enter the stand, right? He should conceal his Arsenal gear until he reaches his seat. Then take off his overcoat. Then, assume defense posture for the next 2 hours.

I totally disagree that Hummels and Subotic are better than Verghonten. I would take Verg over Subotic .The belgian is also more versatile than the Serbian.

subotic and hummels are bigger, stronger and hummels especially reads the game really well

also gotze is better than eriksen imo but no doubt eriksen could have potentially bigger upside

The Wembley pitch seems really slow. Also, two awful defensive ******** ups.

LOL sounds like this move is a 3 month precursor to him returning to Europe with his tail between his legs and horror stories of how they served him tiger paw before games.
