In the final match of the Yongchuan Cup, Mexico got their 1st win against New Zealand, 2-1.

After consecutive 1-0 losses to China and Korea DPR, the New Zealand side looked on course for their first win of 2014 when Amber Hearn struck eight minutes before half time only for the Mexicans to fight back through goals to Renae Cuellar and Teresa Noyola.

    Women’s Invitational Tournament – China

New Zealand 1 (Amber Hearn 37’)
Mexico 2 (Renae Cuellar 43’, Teresa Noyola 73’)
    Halftime: 1-1

Not in the full NT set-up for Australia, but figured I would document her here:

    Georgia Rowntree
    Western Sydney Wanderers Women
    Goalkeeper
    Date of birth:May 20, 1995
Place of birth:Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA
    Nationality:Australian

Born in Florida, USA, and raised as the child of a Military father in various places across Australia, the goalkeeper played for a handful of junior clubs, including Western Sydney sides Moore Bank Sports FC, Bonnyrigg White Eagles, Penrith-Nepean United FC and Sutherland Sharks. After impressing in the Women’s State League and representing Australia in the U19 School Girls tour of South Africa, Rowntree signed with the Western Sydney Wanderers in late 2012.

Guam national coaches will be in California the weekend of March 21, 2014 to look out for the best players eligible to play for Guam during its 2014 Guam National Team Identification Camp. The camp will have a three-day session for women wanting to play for Guam. Guam's women's team, the "Masakåda" will be playing in the East Asian Cup tournament, which begins in July this year with its preliminary competition. The winning team will move on to the second round to face teams like Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei. The final round of the three-leg tournament will feature the Nadeshiko of Japan, vying for the championship, which was taken from them by DPR Korea in the 2013 edition of the tournament.

The camp also will have one-day sessions for those interested in playing for the Guam men's national team (the Matao) and various youth national teams.

    At the Algarve Cup:

Ana Chevtchenko is on the roster for Russia, but didn't appear in their first match.

Silvia Rebelo played 45' for Portugal against Austria.

Portugal has called up University of Hartford senior Stephanie Santos, for what appears to be her first appearance with the team. I can't confirm her citizenship, but she did go to HS in the US. She was DNP in the first match.

In the 2nd game of the group stage at the Algarve Cup:

    Rebelio: DNP against Russia
Santos: came in the 89th minute against Russia for what I think is her first cap
Chevtchenko: came in the 90th minute against Portugal

Maria Zecca has been called in the U19 italian NT in the LaManga tournament: she's also writing a blog on this experience in the Charleston college website, you can find it here: http://cofcwsoc.blogspot.it/2014/03/day-1-bloggin-with-cougar-freshman.html.
We have already spoken about this player sometime ago, and, although I am not 100% sure, I think she has double citizenship, since in the stats is written that she's from Weston, Massachussets.

Looks like there was a final cut before the tournament. Woodall is out, meaning only 6 Yanks on the Mexican squad, which may be a new low.

    - started and subbed out: Jaqueline Crowther 78', Janae Gonzalez 63'
    - subbed in: Eva Gonzales @56' (i.e. she played 34')
    - DNP: Briana Woodall

Thanks for clearing that up. I should have been more clear with the info.

Woodall isn't on the final roster according to FIFA. But I did miss Aylin Villalobos as a Yank on the squad. She was a DNP in this match.

From the team's Facebook page (translated):

Curious fact: the goal that scored Janae Gonzalez against Colombia which I celebration hoisting atop a monkey (chicharito), was dedicated to his partner and friend, Briana Woodall, who was unable to attend the World Cup due to injury.
