If true, firing Yallop accomplishes nothing if Lalas isn't leaving with him.

I would feel sorry for Frank but you know he'll be hired by the San Jose Earthquakes and I think he has a 50/50 shot of being better then the Galaxy next season so this might just be a good thing for him.

    If it is true.

I posted this in the other thread, but why would they fire him days before the Superliga final? I'm betting it's not true. Soon we will have the dreaded vote of confidence from Lalas, whose head is also on the line these days.

I hope this is true. We may be going from the frying pan into the fire, but I for one don't want to just throw our hands up in the air and give up. Someone has to be the fall guy and he is the most logical choice. Happens all the time. Sorry Frank. Good Riddance.

I HATE that MY team is a laughing stock. I was late to work. Didn't want to get out of bed. I was in shock driving home last night after the game. That was one of the most painful games to watch that I have EVER seen in person.

I didn't TiVO the game, but hubby told me what Wynalda was saying during the broadcast. I tell you, I was about to BOO in my seat, but then felt bad for my team. But he's right, how are they going to know how angry we are? I love to get my frustration out here, but what if all those watching can see and hear our frustration too.

I felt SO bad for Becks! Looked like a pulled Hamstring to me. X was SO frustrated...pulling on his shorts. If I never see Veris and Roberts again, that would be OK too. What was Landon's excuse for not starting the game? For those that "bag" Gordon, he was one of few that had some hustle and pressure. Ugh....I SO want to go drink!!!!

Yallop goes before the season is over, and Lalas is sacked after the season. I would be completely shocked if this does not happen.

Hell, >>>> I <<<< hate that your team is a laughingstock. Would mean something to the rest of MLS, includign the Crew when they beat or tied 'em.

But I agree with the others, put Yallop's cred's up against Lalas' and see who's to blame.

Ah, well... will only mean more when Beckham pulls the Gals out of this pit of despair.

PS: Donovan you're a freakin' WUSS!

Better if you'd stayed home, get on one side or the other.

Part of me is happy that he might get sacked, and part of me isn't. If Lalas had given him the right combination of players at the start of the season, then perhaps his luck would've been different. Then again, Yallop doesn't seem like a manager than can inspire his players. They looked like they didn't want to be there last night, and the result showed.

I'm pretty much counting down to next season, anyways. Thanks Yallop, don't let the door hit you in the bum on the way out. Good luck up here in San Whore-se. :p

The part that makes it sound true is the comment about Yallop feeling relieved. At this point it does seem like a kindness to put him out of his misery. And if he does go to SJ it would almost be a favor to him.

But I'm against the timing of it. The rest of the season is just going to get worse. We are not going to make the playoffs. We are going to get killed by Pachuca. Injuries will continue to pile up as we move through this horrible schedule. There are going to be a hundred articles making fun of us.

And there's nothing we can do about it. The plane is going to crash so there's no point in putting in a new pilot now.

What we need to do is make a clean break with the old administration and their policies. Even if they have a new coach ready to go (and I hope they do before firing the old - do we really want an assistant coach to be saddled with this circus?) I would rather they not be blamed for any of the mess that's going to come.

All VERY good points... if we were invisible like Real Salt Lake. But we are the Galaxy and we have Beckham and all eyes are on us. I think that puts a whole other spin on things!

I hope it's true... the Galaxy isn't going anywhere under his command.

I guess im in the camp of "the sooner the better". If Klinsmann can start the rebuilding today, im all for it. If he can win us the SuperLiga, im all for it. If he can somehow get us in the playoffs, im REALLY all for it. If he can put us on the right track at least, make some nice trades or whatever in the off season and get our team ready for next season, im... all for it.

Id say he is the front runner for the position, since he lives in LA, knows the area, knows the players, etc.

I feel bad for Frank. And on most levels, I like Alexi Lalas. But I DON'T like what is happening on the field right now.
I think Wynalda was right when he said we lacked confidence. I think the players should be doing better than this despite our injury woes. But they just aren't pulling it together. I have been an apologist for the team, hoping that once Beckham got here and healthy we would see better, etc, etc... but watching that game last night was painful.

And when a team has no confidence, something has to pull them out. That is usually a new coach. I'm not sure if Frank is the problem, Alexi is the problem or if it's some of our personnel, [or all three] but we don't look capable with the parts we have in place now of doing much different.

I had hoped that this game would signal a change, we could pick up momentum going into a string of games against weaker teams and gain the confidence we needed. After last nights game, I'm about ready to join TequilaJoal in the pessimists club. I'm not looking forward to these next games because I just think it's going to show me how doomed we are.
Like it or not, a change has to be made and it will likely be FY. I don't know who was responsible for putting this current team together, but if it was Alexi, more than Frank, then he has got to go too. Something has to happen in order to pull us out of the funk.

Excellent points. I was thinking that earlier in the year we had bad results & Lalas had to "DO" something, so all the players got turned over. Now the only thing Lalas can "DO" is fire the coach, so that will probably happen.

Remember when we had a back line of Albright - Ugo - Marshall - Dunivant & it was the strongest in the league? That was before Lalas/Yallop. Albright's injury wasn't Frank's fault, but the dismantling of the team in the past year is ridiculous.

Yallop dropped Dunivant in San Jose.

For the record, we want Kinnear.

So the rumor is also that Beckham won't play the Colorado or Superliga Final matches?

His free kicks and a Joe Cannon blinder are probably the only prayer that they could beat Pachuca.

Our first victory against Pachuca was a mixture of luck and inspired playing. We don't have either of those this time around. At least we're going to lose to the best team in Mexico, hell, the best team in CONCACAF.

My question is... if Lalas fires Yallop, who fires Lalas??? We're SCREWED! We're stuck with Lalas for life!

Does Yallop have to give back his snappy Hugo Boss suit or does he get to keep it as a parting gift?

My question regarding the LA organization is who is calling the player personnel shots? I have a hard time believing that Alexi Lalas' ego would allow him to turn the trades and signings over to the coach BUT I have a hard time believing someone with Frank Yallop's pedigree would take a head coaching job without having control of player moves.

So, who is the one who was making all these moves?

Nobody knows. None of us knows if it is Lalas, Yallop, or if they are working together on their personnel moves.

You'd think such a basic piece of information would be available to the rabid fanbase, but no.

I don't think anybody wants to be accountable.
