Congratulations to Club Tijuana who are champions of the liga de ascenso! They deserve their own thread for having such an excellent season! http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/m...-con-medio-boleto-a-la-primera-division_33174
So I heard they have to do well in another tournament, but I can't find that tournament online. I'd like to watch it on TV. Any idea how I can track this info down? I want to support Club TJ, so any tips on how to follow them online or television would be great. Do you think they'll be promoted?
Finally, and yes they do deserve a thread but yeah hope they get to the Primera im only a 2 hour drive from there and it would be great to catch some games
They will play the winners of the next regular season tournament in something of a Promotion showdown...don't know what happens if they win it too though... And yes they will be promoted soon, the companies behind the team have shelled out big bucks to make them a first tier team
yes i have heard of this...the owners have dished out some major mula for them to get to the primera and what do we all know about the primera.... Money talks.... Although i must say they have been playing pretty good for a couple of years now
Today: Club Tijuana open their Clausura season at Altamira, 6:45 p.m (4:45 Pacific time). I'm guessing I might find the game on one of the Mexican TV channels available in San Diego. http://www.terra.com.mx/liga_de_ascenso/articulo/1027847/Xolos+debuta+en+el+Clausura+2011+ante+Altamira.htm
I live in San Diego and have never seen the LdA televised. As far as the Altamira match goes, E de A beat CTj. 1-0. They are shown 13th of 17, with one match in hand. http://www.femexfut.org.mx/portalv2/?s=1670&ep=938&dd=1
on rare occurences and sometimes not even live, they show Xolos games on the local TJ Televisa channel 12
Looks like Club Tijuana and the LA Galaxy are playing a friendly in San Diego at Torero Stadium on March 2nd. Tickets just went on sale. http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=TDC&pid=6957111
Looking to get information on tickets for Xolos home game. I live in San Diego. Would I just go to TJ and buy at the stadium? Anyone going this Sunday? Also, looking for a jersey from last year -- when they looked like AC Milan. Anyone know where to get one? Thanks!
Tijuana beat Galaxy in the San Diego Clasico http://www.mediotiempo.com/futbol/m...campeon-del-ascenso-gano-el-san-diego-clasico
They just put this site up in concert with the game up here last night... http://www.xolos.us/tickets.html
Thanks. I'd probably just walk up to the stadium, and buy tickets there. Anyone from San Diego going to the game tomorrow? Xolos playing Correcaminos, who are currently top the Liga del Ascenso.
Damn the stadium just keeps getting bigger and bigger. Very interesting design too, very vertical for a stadium.
Used to go to the games a lot when I lived in San Diego, was probably the only gringo to go to there and atmosphere is great at the games, plus the beer is super cheap.
Tijuana win 5-1 and are in the semifinals http://espndeportes.espn.go.com/futbol/report?leagueCup=MEX.1&id=316404
Xolos are 180 minutes away from the 1st division. Xolos have 2 ways to be promoted: 1. Beat Irapuato in the Torneo Clausura Grand Final. 2. If necessary, beat Irapuato in the Promotion Playoff Series. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2011/may/07/xolos-beat-leon-edge-closer-mexicos-top-division/ == If the Xolos were to be promoted, then LA Galaxy and Chivas USA will have serious competition 2 hours down the road, especially when Chivas Guadalajara and Club America are in town. Expect the likes of Mexicoach to run buses from East LA and East San Fernando Valley to Estadio Caliente on game days.
